The Dive and Long Jump fused together forms a Lunge Jump, in which Mario dives forward at incredible speeds. Be careful, though. Once you Lunge, it's hard...

If you're gonna ask for the long jump, might as well ask for the crouch attack, crouch slide attack, backflip, sideflip, double jump, triple jump, jab 1-2-3, jump kick, and whatever sm64 mario's moveset is.

edit: forgot he could wall kick

I suppose this is an SRB2-ified mario 64 moveset

but i played a bit and, WTF?! why is mario metal mario while in nights? wouldn't it make sense to be flying cap mario just saying
also the jab and stuff would be neat just saying :threat:
 
Metal Mario did have wings at one point. The problem came when coming to a dead stop in NiGHTs. Mario would use sprites that didn't have wings then switch back to having wings, creating a consistency problem. Because I don't know what states can be used to fix this, I decided to just remove the wings. I might look into it in a future update so that Metal Mario has wings.

if you did that that would be weird as there is no flying cap + metal mario, so it should just be flying cap mario
 
why cant there be forms like say if you have 100 rings your metal mario if you have 50 your flying mario idk

There is Wing Metal Mario in Mario 64, though. It's just unused. I did find that it is possible for base Wing Mario sprites in NiGHTs and Metal Mario sprites in normal stages, though, so that's what's gonna be in the next update.

I found a bug, after jumping off the swings in CEZ Mario has infinite jump ability uses until he touches the ground again.
 
You actually got us to finding another cause of the infinite Lunge bug: horizontal springs. The swings (or what I call launchers) work fine from what I've seen in testing.
 
I was around both horizontal springs and the launchers in CEZ2 when it happened, not entirely sure which one triggered it though.

Yeah, I did just go back and test right as you posted. It was indeed the horizontal springs. As hilarious as this is, it's something that probably should be fixed lol.

It seems like N64 Mario can jump slightly higher if you hold jump while ground pounding. I don't know if this is intentional or not, since it was an actual ability in later games.

Actually the ability you're referring to is "Jump just as you land after ground pounding to jump higher"
 
I really love this mod a lot but I fell like things are lacking in abilities. So heres some suggestions

1. A health system similar to sm64

2. Wing cap in special stages

3.more moves ex. Long jump , wall jump , punches ext.

4. Maybe kinda like chrispy chars replace emeralds with power stars
( warning this idiot ( me ) is about to say something dumb as hell)
replace brak with bowser and this mod will be golden
