Momentum+ Mighty/Trip Bounce Fix

Could you add compatability with The true drop dash mod?
Why I'm asking this is because the mods physics breaks when this one is on.
Could you link to which one that is? There are like 12 Drop Dash mods on here.

Yo thx for the fixes, feels great as usual but I have a request! So I like that way it feels and I use it all time so I was wondering if there could be a command to make sonic not have an ability at all like the classic games, I say command cause I like the thok and it should stay but just for a challange of some sort or misc if you know what I mean. But it's not anything important so ofc you don'y have to, Have a Good night/Great day!
Sorry it's taking so long to add this, I was trying to add a command to swap and couldn't figure out how. I'll add a secondary build that removes it instead.

No dude It's alright, you don't need to apologize it's your mod you can take as much time as you want. Besides It's not needed anyway the mod feels great anyway and I use it all the time!

I will say this tho since it's about keeping your momentum it does feel weird when you slow down after a while, especially in larger levels or level with a long hall like Metal's race.

I was thinking maybe have it so we don't lose speed. and if that makes us go too fast we could have a speed cap where it's still high but too high to the point where we crash into everything.

Btw, regarding my last review and your response to it, I'd like if amy could use her hammer bounce multiple times even if it meant altering fang's oveset a lil bit :D
 
Yo i like the changes you've done with characters but i want to ask 2 things

if you get the chance list what's been done to Shadow because its hard form me to tell what it does for him

a question for Mighty cuz i find him a cool character but kind of slacks gameplay wise (Which, everybody should alr know.) The hammer drop add is good but i feel like making a tweak to his drop dash can make him better cuz that Mighty's weakest thing in his kit; hammer drop base is good and gets better with your mod but overall its his drop dash cuz it really does nothing unless on slope of course like any other spin property would do, but probably just making it work like a normal drop dash instead of the weak one he has would be a good idea and nothing to crazy and with keeping vanilla in mind.

For Shadow, the only changes are universal. I might rework Chaos Spear to be more like Air Popgun, but his basic abilities are already pretty on-par with my style of character.

For Mighty, I'll see what I can do. The reason it's harder to change is that using Hammer Drop lowers your speed, so you can't scale it with speed like other moves.

Minor Patch IV

  • Added a version with no Acrobat Thok due to request and to (hopefully) fix bugs involving various Drop Dash mods.
  • Changed how Metal's Dash Mode affects Spinning. Instead of preventing speed loss, it restores Normal Speed like Vector's Record Rush.
  • Fixed Bomb's Fuse Dash Jump by remaking it from scratch, allowing it to properly increase air Thrust Factor.
  • Fixed various bugs.

Sorry if I'm missing something, but why does a momentum mod have a speed limiter? I keep rolling down slopes without ever getting enough speed to use the acrobat thok effectively.

The Roll doesn't. It's just running that has a speed cap, and the only reason it even has one is that one section in Speed Highway. I've tested it multiple times myself, and Rolling is completely unaffected by the speed cap. If it feels like there's a limit, that's probably either placebo or something hard-coded that I can't change.

Minor Patch Five

  • Removed the gradual speed loss from running, instead allowing you to keep all your speed up to 72*FRACUNIT. This was done by request and to fix a bug with Amy's Hammer.
  • Reimplemented the Uncurl from previous builds of Momentum+. By pressing Spin while Rolling with Spin Dash characters, you can cancel back into a run and keep all speed.
  • Fixed a few more bugs.

Actually, you were right. You made me realize that having Amy able to do so much more with her Hammer made her Twin Spin obsolete, and by extension made her not having a Spin Jump obsolete. I'll include it in a hotfix.

Just dropping by again to say that with the speed limiter gone, this has become one of my must-have addons. I did notice that Adventure Sonic can't uncurl, presumably his own uncurl conflicts with this mod's. But since this is meant for the vanilla cast, i'd say it's not that much of an issue.

I love the spring-ability combination. it's amazing.

Just dropping by again to say that with the speed limiter gone, this has become one of my must-have addons. I did notice that Adventure Sonic can't uncurl, presumably his own uncurl conflicts with this mod's. But since this is meant for the vanilla cast, i'd say it's not that much of an issue.

Sorry, accidentally excluded characters from using it in the code instead of limiting it to compatible characters.

Revenge of the Minor Patch

  • Made not holding a direction during Sonic's Acrobat Thok stop all speed and rise/fall slightly faster than holding a direction.
  • Made Amy's Hammer and Fang's Bounce Landing stop all speed if not holding a direction before using it (though not on the ground for Amy since friction applies).
  • Fixed a few other problems I've probably forgotten about.

JK NOT DEAD LOL

  • Reverted Amy's Jump to Vanilla and restored the TwinSpin, but merged Spinning and the TwinSpin into one state. This means that slope momentum, slower fall speed, larger attack range, sliding under gaps, skidding on water, etc. are all part of the TwinSpin. This also includes the Hammer Jump, which now puts you in the TwinSpin state.
  • Gave Tails, Knuckles, Metal Sonic, and Vector the ability to perform a falling Acrobat Thok that doesn't gain speed (named Acrobat Cancel) in place...
