Here's an idea, his continue animation would be him in a monitor, and then when the player continues, he breaks out.

It looks bad because it dosen't look right, and I mean "considering you" because Modern Knux has much more polished sprites (I still don't think it's a Vanilla Knux edit), and you are a pretty good spriter, so I thought it would look better.
