Dark94's WIP stuff!

Dark94

Learned Lua, now Python. What's next? Javascript?
Welcome, fellow user of this very website...
In this thread, you may find all my W.I.P. things, all in one place.

Questions are welcomed here, so fell free to ask.

Um... I think that's enough text. Now, some footage!

Okay... After an entire month, I have something to show, even if small!
School crushed my spare time, so I couldn't do a lot of stuff... :dramahog:

I've created these block-shaped objects with collisions. (nope. you can't create sectors with lua.)
Try to guess what I'll be using these for... :welcometoreleases:

THE "PLACE BLOCKS LIKE IN MINECRAFT" FEATURE SHOWN IN THE VIDEO BELOW IS ONLY FOR TESTING AND WILL BE REMOVED SOON!

QUICK EDIT!
If, for some reason, the video doesn't plays, try downloading it and watching it from your favorite video player.

That's all as for now!
I'll try to bring some updates as soon as possible. See ya' soon!

I present to you... Extra Controls
Shield button never dies! :welcometoreleases:
imagen_2025-03-02_235558146.png

For more context, I'm working on an add-on that will allow players to use some controls that SRB2 doesn't has! (or were deleted...)

As for now, everything related to saving/loading data is finished. It only remains to do a menu, make the controls actually work, and adding some other extra controls.

I'm open to suggestions for extra controls that I should add, but those suggestions must follow 2 simple rules:
  • Obviously this will get submitted, so your extra control must follow the Submission Rules!
  • Your extra control should do something that can be done in unmodified SRB2 too. (Example: Chatting with private messages)

why was macaronii banned?

A killbind (although, to be honest, it's already easy to do)
Where's the Sonic model from your pfp? Just want to know.

why was macaronii banned?
From what I remember, he said the reason was that he tried to upload too many times an add-on we were working together, but it never got approved. (I didn't get to finish the code. I think that's why the add-on wasn't approved...)

Like the suicide command from Multiplayer?

While this could save some time, players could accidentally kill themselves if they press the key they assign to it.

Maybe I can make a pop-up appear to confirm if they want to do that action? (Similar to the pop-up that appears in Singleplayer when trying to retry from the last starpost.)

Something like:
Are you sure you want to suicide?
You will get back to the last starpost.

(Press 'Y' to confirm)

Where's the Sonic model from your pfp? Just want to know.
It's from an sm64dxcooop mod (named Sonic Character: Rebooted).

The menu for Extra Controls is in the works!
I'm trying to make it look as similar as possible to SRB2's Control Setup menu.

And if you ask what are those 2 numbers for:
Those are just for debugging and will get deleted soon.
The upper one is the number of Extra Controls, while the lower number is the number of categories.

Man, I never get to download SM64EXCOOP, too hard to install or for me to comprehend (and I know several things anyway!)
Anyway, getting back to topic, I'll be completely honest; I thought of the killbind for the funnies.

I've just remembered I was doing a Level Maker add-on, so...

Now you can move in a better way through your level while editing it!
(I should optimize the blocks...)
srb20083.gif

With your movement keys you can move forward, backwards, or sideways.
You can use JUMP/SPIN to go upwards/downwards respectively.
Press FIRE to place the selected item. (As for now, there's only 1 item)

There is a lot of stuff planned for this add-on, so this sure will be a long ride. I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish this add-on (specially cuz I'm working alone), but I'll try to make it through any problems that might cross on my way.

As always, if you want to see more of this, stay tuned!
