hey,

me and @CRAZYLIKEME3O are working on a character addon that brings Chirpy from the Chirpy series on scratch to srb2, based on the fifth entry, Chirpy Reverie.
(you should play Chirpy Reverie, it's challenging but really good! (before doing it i advise you to read Chirpy: A Summary first))

"But who is Chirpy?" you may ask. the lore book says the following:
"Chirpy the Penguin is a cheerful, friendly fellow who
is a keen swimmer. His signiture blue hoodie was stitched
by his mother, and he has worn it throughout all his journeys.
He often likes being around others, not enjoying
alone time."

Chirpy is an Adélie penguin, hence the name.

i'll provide some screenshots and gifs.

This is the second time this week someone has mocked the character I've spent years building. why does nobody understand that's just a full on jerk move
I just asked a question no need to stoop to insulting

it’s not being a jerk if we say what it looks like. A jerk means an annoying person. Also you spelled stop wrong.

i've completed most of the wait sprites (emphasis on "most" as i need to fix the front wait sprite shading)
as a bonus, the life icon (on the hud and the monitor), and the continue icon are finished.

i should really post here more often..
but now im back to show more progress of whats done on the chirpy mod!

as you have probably seen, crazy has completed more sprites, such as the waiting sprites (mostly), life icons and the continue icon (thanks crazy!)

but more work was done on the coding side, so heres whats done right now:
+ flawless gems! you get a flawless gem by beating a boss without getting hurt (since beating the boss regularly was too easy). as a bonus, the flawless gems save.
+ custom music, i decided to add music from chirpy reverie to the chirpy mod to spruce it up a bit.
gfz1's song gets replaced by sunset shore's music (just because the song is my favorite in chirpy reverie's soundtrack), and the results song gets replaced by the expert level clear song. another bonus, this is also toggable via console commands!
+ console commands. if you didn't see above, i added console commands! these console commands also save like the flawless gems.
(the saving code is taken from xmomentum and classic specials, which are reusable.)

and more that i didn't list here (probably)

a little update on the mod:
(since i know i haven't completed even a quarter of the sprites needed)
we're implementing dialogue for chirpy in the vanilla level roster! (we're using clonefighter's textbox library!) so far, greenflower 1 and greenflower 3 (upon completion has 2 different dialogues) have a sort of dialogue. chickthingz is implementing the dialogue to display whenever a particular thing happens, like entering a level or completing a boss, whereas i provide dialogue and create sprites for the dialogue.

here's a little demo of the dialogue: (note how ignis doesn't have a single sprite yet, however i plan to make them today or in the near future)
