Show a gif
It happens randomly so I don't know if I can get a gif, but I'll try

Well, never mind, I actually got a gif first try, but it was too big so I did dumb stuff for a lot of time to try and get it, so... Yeah, here's a bad quality gif of the glitch

Also, something weird I found out, the glitch have happen on very random moments, but based on my memorys and this gif, it's more consistent when you do it against the wall... Or maybe it's cuz' I tryed to go foward right after launching upwards, I think that's what makes the glitch happen, but I don't really know

I've attempted to redo this, but I haven't been able to reproduce the effect shown here. What's your SRB2 version? Most problems here seem to stem from that

Strange little thing I've found, a fully charged dash destroys spikes that are directly below you, even though you aren't anywhere near them.
I missed this post before, but I made a note and will see about fixing this for the next update.

I have been unable to reproduce this bug. I've tried both input types. It's strange that you started running into this with the latest update, as none of the charge jump code has changed since version 1.1 when I added the input swap option. I'm sorry, I have no clue what is causing this or how I'd go about fixing it.

In other news, a version 1.3.1 update is in the works and will involve a fix for the spike breaking bug mentioned above as well as some tweaking of Dash Mode visual effects and improvements to the death animation. So there is that to look forward to in this addon's future.

As I already said, it's the last one, 2.2.10, literally downloaded like a week ago

Yeah, that's weird, what precisely are you doing when this supposed bug happens anyway?
I'm unsure, I just stop moving to use the charge jump, fully charge it and it randomly fails.. I think it's cuz' I inmideatly try to go foward, but it have happen when I don't do that.. And also, looks like it's more consistent if you do it against a wall, but it isn't something with collision at it has happen while no were close to a wall or ground

A little teaser regarding the upcoming version 1.3.1 update:
Currently, JMS will emit sparkles while charging. This is an artifact from early on in development when I only had the charge abilities concept going. I am working to replace this visual effect with something more fitting. To be a bit more precise, I am working to replace it with an effect inspired by the Metal Sonic boss fight.

What exactly are you showing off?
The first picture is an error, for which I would like some info on what was done to make the error happen as that would give me a better idea on how to fix it.

The second one I think is the fact that the pulsing effect indicating dash mode behaves weirdly in reverse gravity(?) A bug I was already aware of and had already fixed for the upcoming update but it's always nice to get stuff reported.

The third one shows that getting hurt while charging does not cause proper pain behaviour. Something that I have now also fixed for the upcoming update.

It took me a couple seconds to figure each of them out, in particular the second one. I would've appreciated some description of what I was supposed to notice.

That error seems familiar. I recall getting something like that from the times I've played with JMS. I'm not exactly sure what causes it though, nor can I remember what I did to make it happen.

I broke the character lol
This happened because I used Objectplace to cheat death, and I think I might've activated it before JMS reached the ground, so he's stuck at an angle now. I think the game believes that I'm still airborne, as I'm unable to charge my dashes or anything like that. Honestly? I'm not expecting this to be fixed because it's not at all intended lol, and it isn't something that one would typically encounter.

My assumption was correct. If I do reach the ground before cheating death, I'm stuck without the jet boosters, but I can still charge my dashes it seems.

Scratch that. As soon as I charge both of my dashes, I lose them for good, and I keep the afterimage even after landing on the ground. This is pretty funny.

Zarosguth updated Jet Metal Sonic with a new update entry:

I cannot believe I let this bug exist for so long!

So, major bugfix for a bug that has been around since I added the option to swap the jump and stomp inputs.
  • I fixed Charge Jump behaving weird when trying to perform a second jump on the non-swapped control scheme (let go without holding a direction to jump).
  • On top of that I also fixed a related bug where the wrong launch effect would happen when performing either the Charge Jump or Stomp with releasing the jump input.
To make up for missing this bug for so long I made...

Zarosguth updated Jet Metal Sonic with a new update entry:

Full revision in the works

It has been a while but that doesn't mean that nothing has been happening. In fact, a full lua script revision for JMS is in the works.

My goal is to make the overall code cleaner and nicer to look at, as well as change how a number of things work in the background.
On top of that I am reworking the Charge Abilities (particularly how charging, built-up charge, and ability uses work) as well as making a couple of changes to Dash Mode.

Zarosguth updated Jet Metal Sonic with a new update entry:

JMSRev is here!

And here it is, probably the biggest update to JMS yet. Let's go over all the changes shall we?

Charge Abilities rework:
  • Rather than a number of uses, Charge Abilities has an energy meter now
    • Using abilities uses this energy and abilities can be used a long as energy is available
    • While charging, a portion of the available energy will be highlighted showing how much energy will be used
    • Regardless of the amount of available energy, charging state can be held...
