Poloy is your typical first map, nothing much, but Black Comet...
My first reaction to seeing Mega Black Comet was a little disappointment, as Megas are not really my cup of tea. Look, I understand their appeal as quick maps that are easy to make while offering nostalgia and some heated trap combat, but I'm not their target demographic. Because of that I usually just play them once and never look back. Also, this feeling was particularly strong here because Black Comet is a gigantic stage with lots of spectacle and gimmicks, and a non-mega (and extremely hard to make) version of this stage is something I was expecting from the base game (alongside Stardust Speedway).
But holy shit. You blew out all of my expectations with this.
The stage is cramped and filled with traps, and the corners are violent and relentless. This is the first time I had to REALLY pay attention to my breaking, and the third one I had to employ some precise sliptiding. The ending is also incredible, with the sharp corner on the water. Great stuff.
It is one of those maps that get very satisfying once you can pull off the techniques needed, it makes you feel in perfect control of the kart and leads to incredible moments.
Also, this game is supposed to be challenging, so there's that.
Sure, it's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea. In fact, I can see it being unpopular for the very reasons I praise it, but I loved it to pieces, and my only gripe would be the tunnel interfering with your vision (It's really bad).
Good luck with the map-making!
I see a lot of potential in you.
