Whilst y'all wait for MCSonic v2, I decided to dig up something from my archives that some of you may enjoy....

So, for a few months a while back, I was working on a physics mod, PiSRB2. One of the ideas I had for this mod was taking the Air Drill, a generally mediocre vanilla ability, and remaking it to be far greater than before.

I did that, and even though I stopped work on PiSRB2 (I MIGHT restart one day, since I sorta like some of what I did).... I think it's fitting to release the revamped Air Drill!

How It Works
Press jump mid-air to enter Air Drill state. During this, you can either hold Jump/just pressing directional keys to ascend, but only so far. You can also hold Spin to charge a Drop Dash whilst stomping towards the ground. During all this, your speed when starting the Air Drill is maintained, allowing you to maintain speed... if you have a Momentum Mod on. You also bonk off walls, in order to prevent wonkiness.

Credits -
STJr. for the original code for the Air Drill which this is heavily based off of.
Krabs for the Rebound Dash trail effect which is used here.
CobaltBW for the basis of the Drop Dash code used here - iteration of an iteration.
DirkTheHusky for the Drop Dash sprites.
GreenKnight9000 and Frostikin for advice on adjustments when they were given the Physics Mod to test.

CBWMOMENTUM MOD RECCOMENDED FOR ORIGINAL EXPERIENCE

P.S: BUGS WILL NOT BE FIXED UNLESS THEY PREVENT RELEASE. THEY WILL ONLY BE FIXED IF I EVER RELEASE THE FULL MOD.

This is great! I love the new Drop Dash part you added, and... the... - anyway, I love everything about this! Simply outstanding! So great, that I'm having a lot of trouble describing how great this!
(I wish this'd be a part of 2.3)

genuinely a very unique and equally fun take on the infamously mediocre move hidden in srb2's source code. the drop dash especially, that adds so much substance to the move than what there already is.

only real issue personally (and it is really a personal thing) is that it's way too easy to automatically rebound off a wall if you're next to one and you try to airdrill. other than that, high quality stuff.
