Nu Angel Island Zone - Act 1 1.21

SRB2 could really take advantage of this type-of-stage built on Speed and Momentum on mind , however there are some problems related to this... :

Low End PC Users (including me) may suffer with endurace lag , which dastrically reduces the intended way to play the level with smooth framerate (i can run it on 15 to 30fps at least)

Open and Freedom like stages (imo) kinda makes the exploration and the replayabilty harder beacuse it's a "Gotta Go Fast" and searching secrets in every corner by each area takes longer due to the fact that the stage is really really big

Asides of that , i cant wait for NU Angel Island Act 2 , hopefully it will release on the futures versions of SRB2 (2.2.12 or higher) or as the creator said , when Zone Builder gets updated soon

Regarding the lag, yea it's a bit of a detailed level, but I've been given advice to make it run smoother in Software mode, so perhaps that will fix or mitigate the issue.
The secrets are just there for a little bit of extra depth for people to explore if they feel like it. The majority of pathways are integral to the overall A-to-B design of the level, so it does heavily focus on finding the most optimal route. I just wanted to make something that had a unique experience for every type of player.
Yup I'm excited to get to work on an Act 2, so here's hoping!

Great Mod For Boostmentum! As i Thought This is why Recreate S3AIR and S3K At the times Keep It Up!

I feel like Boostmentum adds so much to the SRB2 experience and having levels designed around it would be the best available. I can only hope it inspires other creators to also start designing around it.

THIS STAGE IS SO GOOD! This reminds me of S3AIR and S3K itself in general! The Remix is AMAZING! the level design is OUTSTANDING! The nostalgia that this brings is so GOOD! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!!!

Oh my god. What a pleasant surprise!

It's rare to see such a casual mastery of vertex slopes in a stage like this. Honestly this is incredibly impressive. You've successfully captured the Classic Sonic feel with this, and it's super replayable and fun to route.

A few points of criticism:

-I think some of your geometry and your slope usage is a bit overtly jagged, it can lead to you flying places you don't want to go, or grassy terrain feeling a bit too fractured

-That final spiral at the end is super long and slow even with momentum mods.

-Some of the texturing is super jank, even in OpenGL

Thanks again for the super kind words! I picked up Zone Builder pretty quickly and the slopes stuff just started to come along pretty well. I really appreciate the feedback; I do somewhat chop it up to the game not being the easiest to work with and it being my first time making a level, but I'll keep these considerations for future levels if I ever get around to making more. You can be sure they'll all improve upon this one. :D
