Starting development way back in 2020, I am finally pleased to present my first character mod for 2.2. Dejiko is a quick, nimble character that jumps high, is capable of spindashing and can build up momentum quickly with her main ability: The Pounce.
She can also use her pounce to cling to walls and leap from them! it's not that great for vertical movement, as she has trouble hanging on without proper claws, so use it carefully! You can make her speed through tight sections and valleys if used right to her advantage.
Press the Custom 1 button to fire her trademark laser-eye beams; which comes very handy for bosses.
I spent a lot of time pre-rendering and re-pelleting the sprites, so I hope you can all enjoy it despite it's relative simplicity. The addon comes in two flavors for voice options: Japanese (Asami Sanada) and English. (Chris Simms, her voice from the short-lived dub of the 2003 series, which is what I based her design off of)
MarioNumberOne: Project leader, did all the pre-rendering, sprite touch-ups and animating.
BuggieTheBug and Delf: Momentum thok LUA, Wall-cling code, additional coding assistance.
CreeperFace941: Projectile function, which was used as reference for her own eyebeam.
PRBlaster: assistance with making Dejiko's projectile have more of an actual "laser"-like look.
Kirb: Rundust LUA
Rueven: Gave me permission to look into his N64 Mario mod, mainly so I could get a better idea of how to program simple voice functions.
Special Thanks: Chris Simms, The original english voice for Dejiko for the short-lived dub of Di Gi Charat's 2003 reboot, Di Gi Charat: Nyo! You were a huge factor of motivation to getting me to finally finish this, thanks for being a great friend, it was a pleasure to actually get to meet you when I thought you had entirely disappeared. ^^
