I wouldn't worry about spriting NG chaacters, nitro's already doing that.
Also, I converted the mp3s into OGG using Audacity, and packed them into the WAD, then uploaded it to mediafire in a RAR archive. Now it's 21MBs instead of a combined 45MBs. You'll need winrar or 7Zip to extract it.

Hyper Sonildow, don't think I'm discouraging you from making it like 06, I just don't want the mod to fail for the same reasons that '06 did. This mod has the potential to go right where '06 went wrong, I don't want to see it hit the trash. Base it off of '06, don't make it exactly like it.

There are lots of huge SRB2 levels, I think Dusty Desert lags because you have too many FOFs, the software renderer can only handle so much, try studying big maps like the ones in Blue Heaven or The Emerald isles to see how they pulled it off.

If you sprite real NG characters, then you might have to make an exe and have all the characters already in there, that way if someone gets to a level (like one that needs Rouge) they can already start out as that character
You don't need an exe to do that, actually.

Turning isn't the problem its probably because you aren't quick enough to turn. =P.

edit: Yeah it's really simple not to fall of an edge if you have good timing.

No, he's talking about how awful SA mode is, turn it off, most people don't like it.
 
I finally got the gut to try this, and to be honest, it wasn't very good.
Sure you got sounds and music, a few sprites here and there, but what I'm concerned about is game play. Even if the actual game was horrible, doesn't mean this has to be as well. I only saw 1 vertical spring in this whole mod, all the rest were diagonal springs that hit you into walls that you could just use a vertical spring for. The checkpoint sprites were... ugly. The loops weren't very well made either. I liked the old next gen mod better =(

And the reason nobody likes SA mode usually is the analog thing. I personally like analog, and wish it would work in multi-player mode, but sadly it doesn't.
 
For the checkpoint you have reason but you like the other next gen mod!??

This next gen mod are better, more funny and more longer than the other.
 
Yours is longer because it looks as if you rushed it. The old one was only like two levels because it was a demo, and it was much higher quality than this, my friend.
 
The main reason most people hate SA mode is because 95% of the players use mouselook and we are constantly messed up because we can not strafe and everytime we move the mouse slightly or dramaticly, we move everytime. Also Tails users have to hold the jump button to fly and they have to keep pressing their backwards button just to turn. Its the same thing with Super Sonic when he flies

Why does the springs got to be concerned. The other nextgen mod has only diagonal springs, and who cares if you don't like SA mode, I think it goes great with the mod, If you don't like then you don't have to play it. If it will make you feel better then I'll make another seperate mod one with analog, and one without. Yeah and I will fix the stupid checkpoint sprites, I don't care if there badly made, its fine the way they are, its just there to be a good gimmick to the mod. Also thats a good thing that you like the other Next Gen mod, I don't care if you like it or not, I just putted this mod on the forums just to enjoy. All your problems are like opinions. >_>...........

Besides, by you saying "If you don't like it, don't download it" you're only hurting yourself. DarKWarrior has a whole topic about this in announcements.
Furthernore, he's not trying to attack you, Sonildow. He's telling you his opinion. Personally, I have an analog controller for my laptop, so I don't see it as a problem. Others might.
Back on topic now, what's your progress on...White Acropolis?
 
0% I haven't even started it yet. Im still working on New city.(for the other reply) I shouldn't have started crap like that, Im sorry if I was bieng mean, its just to many stuff going on and alot of people rush me of doing this mod. People are going like fix this and fix that and im stuck in a loop of confusion. (I hope people are getting this) That's also why the progress is going so slow. *signs* Im starting to not care anymore. I barely have people helping me. Its only; SilverESP giving me sounds, Chisuun spriting the people, and I think Red Echidna soccing still, and Shadic_The_Human is giving me ideas. This is what I do, Map, Sprite the rest of the things, and Edit in Xwe. It might not seem alot ,but it is. Now before I start editing again, is there anymore problems, before I lose my mind and go crazy! Every time I start something then here goes another problem. please tell me now. I'll start editing tomorrow.

Now, regaurding Dusty Desert, it its much, much better than Wave Ocean, much cleaner, more platforming, I like It. Your zoomtubes could use some work, the loops are pretty funky, all of them. Most people don't like SA mode because it has horrible controls for over half the community who only use a keyboard. I know I died quite a few times because of a random thok to the left.

It had diagonal springs IN THE RIGHT PLACES. This had diagonal springs in front of walls as a replacement for vertical springs. Do you understand? If you need to get up a wall, and you have to go right up to the wall in order to get up, you don't use diagonal springs, you use vertical, it makes more sense. =/

And when did I ever say I don't like SA mode? Seriously, people need to read correctly. I LIKE SA mode. And my "problems" are indeed opinions. It's the internet, with a crap load of people. EXPECT PEOPLE TO DISLIKE IT, really.
 
Im okay with SA mode its just that people who dont like SA mode need to start using SRB2's default commands again.

Your talking about that one part in wave ocean part 2. Yeah I know what your talking about, but you're acting like that is a big problem. that's the only one I remember though. So I've made one mistake like that, ok I'll fix it. Better?
