Standing/Walking/Running sprite being shown in my ability for 1 tick: How do I solve it?

Learned Lua, now Python. What's next? Javascript?
So... I have a little problem, when I do any ability that does something when you touch the ground, the standing still sprite (or the walk/run sprites if you're in movement) will show up for 1 tick (35 ticks = 1 second). At first, it's hard to see. But when you spot it, it's annoying like a sore thumb.

If someone knows a solution to this, I would appreciate your help.

Now, a .gif of the problem itself, where you can see a recreation of Fang's bounce (it may not be 100% accurate) that haves this error.


If I somehow find myself the solution, I'll let you know.
