ok . well , what if sonic has a lightning shaped bar that get's filled when sonic runs at mach 2 for a while , and when it gets filled , sonic will go lightspeed mode ? and in lightspeed mode , he doesn't need to run for a while to reach mach 3 . it will be instant when he moves . idk how to balance it but well . ( may affect on super sonic too . maybe not idk . )

oh! you're talking about the lightspeed dash! i think that's already in, but it's been a while since ive played speedy sonic. so i can't say for sure.

No this is kinda a lame idea because in lightspeed mode Sonic can dash on a lign of rings, but imagine running at mach speed and instantly dashing rings, and for frontiers you just go faster but GUESS WHAT Speedy round faster the longer you run so that's litteraly useless
