HEY! I could make ONE path have a hidden cave off to the side with it in it! :D

To make it a little harder, there should be lava around the shield.. or some challenging thing that requires timing...

Hehe lava geyser...

Since it's a match/tag level, I think there should be some scenery where players can hide/run into to avoid being ring-tossed.

Hmm. Like, trees, or somethin'? o-o

Yeah, something like that..
Hmm. Well, I couldn't make the tree type like in Verdant Forest because I don't have enough room. Is there any good THING I could use..?

Try sprite editing or replacing if you'd like an easy custom tree. I'm still learning map-making and its aspects, so I can't help you with much.

Try adding small platforms and walls, so it doesn't seem so plain, And the lava geyser idea is great. Make some area for the player to hide, escape, and use for half an advantage. Sort of like spin-only spaces, which contain items and such.

About that higher floating platform, it seems too flat and empty. The Verdant Forest trees are indeed too big, but like Speedylizzard said, maybe you could try replacing it? Or since your level is CEZ themed, try to make some sort of tombstones.

And the secret cave thing, I was thinking that it should have like 2 ways to enter it, one under the lava (in one of the walls) and one somewhere, but of course, it should be hidden, like in a patch of flowers? And maybe in the lava entrance, there should be rising and falling lava, too.

Hmmm. I could edit a few sectors and throw a few extras in, I suppose. And as for the spin-only places, heh, that's not a bad idea at all. As NiteAngel suggested, one secret entrance to the hidden cave on the ground (AKA the spin-only entrance), and the exit will be a spring of some sort leading back up into the pool. That's actually a good suggestion. =D

I could make sprite replacements on the Candy Canes as big tombstones that cover the player entirely, and make them impassible, too... Wow, that's not too bad.
And like I said to SpeedyLizzard14, there will only be ONE entrance on the ground (Good luck finding it ;]), and then it will exit in the second lowest sector in the level, the pool.
And as for the rising and falling lava, it's always rising and falling too fast. Any help on how to control that'd be nice. ^^'

The spring leading to the pool sounds really good! The spin-only entrance sounds cool, I was thinking of doing it on a wall.

Good News, Bad News

Good News:
-Beta 3a is coming out soon, when I'm able to implement a unique part of the level. What is it? You'll find out when it comes... >:]
-I plan on entering this i the May/June '09 Level Contest. I understand it is my first, but it has gotten better reviews than my old Emerald Hill map.
-There WILL, I repeat, WILL be a Beta 3b. It will be the LAST Beta unless I receive more complaints, in which case I will produce Beta 4 and so on until I perfect it BEFORE this month ends (Time constraints suck. xD).

Bad News:
-The progress of completion is coming along MUCH slower than expected.
-Things are not exactly working as well as they should. (Fixing those things)
-The next Beta might not be out before somewhere around June 10th, or mid-June. It's delayed until I get enough freetime. Yes, I will be working on it as often as I can, but since I return home tomorrow, my time is restrained to 8:30pm on weekdays. So that sucks with school and all. D:

But, I promise Beta 3a to be out b June 15th AT THE LATEST. So keep your eyes peeled, and keep the suggestions coming. :] Thanks for all of your support and (hopefully XD) patience, everyone!!

Hm. You already have given a download link. A fine line indeed. Oh, well, that's not my call, but I'm just giving you a heads-up.

Oh crap. o-o I think that means it's not eligible for the contest...
I seem to recall "If this was released even once already it cannot be entered" or something like that
OHGOD.
OHGOD.
I hope nooot.... ><;

Sorry for the double post but...
1 less good news, 1 more bad news...
The good that became bad is... I can't enter it in the Contest. T_T
Should've known...

Important News!!

Good news everyone! Thanks to :SonicMaster:, Beta 3a is on its way. He fixed the special area that I wanted to be implemented.

What's left before the release, you ask? Well...
-At least one more area with limited accessibility
-Special scenery objects and whatnot
-More weapons and the like {MAYBE}

After all that is said and done, and I announce a new release, check the front page to download it. Thanks for everyone's support! ^-^

Beta 3a Up!!!

Good news! Beta 3a has just been released! Unless anyone has any complaints or changes they wish to make/suggest, then this is the last release and it will go in the Releases section. I've spent about three weeks working on this project, and I'm happy with the result. Nearly a month, and my first full-fledged map is almost (or all the way) there!!!

Playable and enjoyable map. I liked.

Well, let's go to speak of some things:

1) Lava really plays a role as a secondary challenge but could be better applied. How the player will know that lava is about to appear and hurt him? There's no way. Think about it. I suggest you to download Jazz Attack (http://www.srb2.org/mb/viewtopic.php?t=9123) and play Fire Eye - MAPB4 in CTF. Sit in and look at how lava "gives a clue" when it's about to rise.

Remember, luck is a thing that a player never should depend on, especially in match.

2) I know where the secret room is... (dun!), but this doesn't matter now. I got myself crushed 3 times there. Player needs to spindash to get in there, but if stops spindashing in the passage, he stands up and, once the passage has a low height, got himself crushed. To avoid it, lower the hight to 32FU. This height forces a continuous spindash and the player never will stand up.

I never got crushed before, nor did anyone else before... That's a new problem to me.... o-o;
And I have JazzAttack, so I will look into it. Thanks for your kind reply Ezer. ^-^

EDIT:: Okay, I fixed the height. It's now 400 as the floor, 432 as the ceiling.
As for the lava's "hinting", I see what you mean. He has lower elevation areas to show where it would pop up, and when it does, to alert the player... However, my area is not long enough to handle said elevation, considering it is only... 256 fracunits wide (Down in the lava-rising area). What do you suggest?

I went to play the level and the rising/falling lava is too... slow. Slow in rising, but a little faster in falling. Also, I found the secret hole thing and this happens:

@NiteAngel: Doesn't happen to me. See?:

Were you, by chance, playing in Software mode? Not to mention, that's not a huge problem, considering you should be in first person view while playing this map as it's a Match/Tag map.
