same problem here. even tried flawless Metal Sonic and final boss back to back because I thought that was it, but it wasn't...
considering this was last updated over 2 years ago, we could be waiting quite a while for a patch, assuming we'll even get one

Like damn, this isn’t a criminal case. This is an issue with a video game mod.

Metal Sonic not dropping the emerald sometimes is a known issue, but without a known method to reproduce it consistently is very hard to actually fix. My recommendation is to just brute force it with god mode and/or destroy all robots if he doesn't want to cooperate.

never asked for proof of your game version, I'm just saying that you can't prove anything wrong or right because you're the only one who recently stated that he/she isn't having any problems, vs several of us who beg to differ.
never said it was a criminal case, nor did I deny that Doug wasn't having any problems, but way to strawman my argument on both points. as Candelavia stated, this is a known issue that's affecting more than just me, contrary to Doug's implication that this is a user-side problem

not sure what you mean by destroying all robots, but I've done several flawless runs and just gave up and edited the esave. saves a lot of headache and it's not like I'm actually cheating considering I already beat metal sonic flawlessly after installing the addon

Something i did to get all sol emeralds was just using dark sonic to speedrun and do a no-hit run

2. Besides those, sadly there aren't more models of these 2

Okay, so I got hit exactly when I beat the Sea Egg and that still counted.
Here is my esav.dat just put this into srb2/luafiles/client/rush and you will have all sol emeralds but rename back ro esav.dat
