Well, step one in terms of getting back on doing this in free time is complete. Computer has been reformatted finally. Now I can go ahead and and work on SRB2 again without worrying about it being lost when I reverted to backup.
As to my World of Warcraft addiction? I'm suddenly not allowed to play other games now? What can I say? Raiding takes up my evening time Sunday-Thursday that I used to spend working on and playing SRB2. Eventually I'll probably get bored of it and go back to SRB2 as my free time sink, but it's certainly not likely for at least a few months. AJ tends to disappear for month-long periods as well, you just don't notice because he's never around in the public areas anyways ^_~
