Momentum+ Mighty/Trip Bounce Fix

Hey I love the changes to fall feeling heavier it make platforming way more fun. One thing is srb2 is cursed with bad air control and was wonder if you could try fixing it by maybe increasing the air control a little.

Not as important since this is a character mod but Modern Sonic's drift makes you dead stop. I was wondering if you can fix that also but you don't have to ofc.

Also I feel that Tails should have a slightly longer time flying in the air. it feels a little weird how he kind of gives up half way and takes away the reason to use him in my opinion.

For the first and second, I'll add them in an update. I'm currently refactoring the code to make it easier to reuse, but that'll be on my list.

For the third, that was actually a deliberate choice. If you land on an enemy or monitor after using the Flight Cancel, you regain your flight time, allowing you to fly for two more seconds each. This also applies to exiting a Glide, exiting Popgun/Bounce, Thokking, Shield Abilities, etc. It encourages the player to take advantage of the dozens of meat shields roaming around the stages in order to gain height and redirect speed. But if it bothers you, I can increase it to around 3 or 4 seconds. I won't go above 5, though, because building up more than 10 seconds of consecutive flying would be incredibly OP.
 
Oh sorry I didn't think of that! I would appreciate if it was up to 3 secs since I see how increasing it more would take away what it was meant for!

  • All aerial states (Jumping, Flying, Gliding, Bouncing, etc.) now share a thrust factor that is as close as possible to half their grounded thrust factor in response to a reviewer.
  • You can now Spin Dash while Skidding.
  • Momentum now applies properly when underwater.
  • Ability Refresh now applies to Spinning in the air, allowing you to act out of the move by landing on an enemy.
  • Max Dash Speeds (For Spin Dash characters and Amy) are now properly reduced to 36*FRACUNIT to...

Dude. This is the best feel for movement in all of my time playing this and is made 100x better with the jump control changes!

Just wanted to try to help you find anything wrong if you wanted, There's a thing where if you roll off a slope pointing upward you can't move anymore and the bubble shield doesn't allow you to bounce no more after one bounce. I thought to myself the acceleration seems a bit strong and maybe if you somehow made it smooth that'll be sick, Also The thok makes the maintain flow with the speed you currently have kind of pointless since you immediately get all the speed you could what so it would be great if you could turn down the speed of the thok a bit so it doesn't bring you to max so quick. And just my opinion the water running doesn't seem like it should be here since it activates sometimes and doesn't at other times so it would be cool if it wasn't a thing or have so you need to be fast the actually be on the water.

Also I feel like I'm a little annoying XD, I just like doing this cause I really like this mod and it's awesome, me and my brother love racing each other with it and playing custom maps with it which the only momentum mod can work with most if not all maps but I don't mean to pressure you or anything and if me commenting stuff about things about the mod ever bothers you just let me know and I'll stop, promise.

No, you're not being annoying at all. I love suggestions because they get me to keep working on the mod. I'll fix the first two problems and nerf the Thok, but the other two are a bit more problematic. If I change the acceleration too much, certain levels will be harder to traverse due to being designed for default physics. That's the same reason I didn't change the Jump Height for anyone but Amy. Also, I tried making linear acceleration, but I couldn't get it to work, so this is what we've got. Lastly, the issues with Water Running are hard-coded, meaning I can't fix/remove it for Dash Mode or Super, but I can fix it in every other situation by not allowing it to be used if you just landed.

Thx dude! It's already a awesome way to play the game and I know doom as limits so it's great you can make this work to begin with, My fav is probably metal since I can just explore every level by flying which seems overpowered until you realize to race you need to ground to gain speed and you need to balance flying with gaining traction since you can't go fast while just flying and crashing.

Fixed a few small issues pointed out by a reviewer.
  • You can now spam the Bubble Shield again.
  • Restored Normal Speed when Spinning in the air.
  • Water Running should no longer activate if you've only just landed, but Dash Mode and Super might have issues with this.

Yo It feels better and I like how to top speed isn't too high anymore which makes platforms easy to get on, also DUDE that acrobat thok goes insane! I feel like it makes sonic's movement more unique how you can get more height but also stop upward momentum when needed. And ofc I notice the decrease of thok speed, much appreciated. Now he feels more fair especially in races.

I usually would say if there was anything that felt off but the one thing I was gonna say you ended up fixing it immediately before I can say it which was it felt to easy to blast up with the thok. But since that's fixed I don't see anything that would be off to me

Fun fact for the ANTONBLAST-like Amy moveset:
In the Life with Anton video, he implies that his daughter's Amy [A little pink hedgehog.] because of Origins Amy's moveset similar to Anton's.

I found a bug where the mud and catapults in Eggman Castle zone won't work and instead makes you thok.
 
Could you add compatability with The true drop dash mod?
Why I'm asking this is because the mods physics breaks when this one is on.

Yo thx for the fixes, feels great as usual but I have a request! So I like that way it feels and I use it all time so I was wondering if there could be a command to make sonic not have an ability at all like the classic games, I say command cause I like the thok and it should stay but just for a challange of some sort or misc if you know what I mean. But it's not anything important so ofc you don'y have to, Have a Good night/Great day!
