Emerald Coast

[Open Assets] Emerald Coast 1.6 - The ACTUAL final update.

nvm, I think it either got fixed itself or it was jast an xmomentum bug that missaligned springs. Because I use Sa Sonic for it and I just went off track from going too fast or smth, I even went back to norm Sonic and it still happened. Idk though
Or maybe because of SA’s sonic slightly different gravity, when at the orca chase sequance there’s jump panel that tosses SA-S over the booster, and there’s nothing I can do about it, because it works fine with every other character but SA-S, and If changed it to work with SA-S then it wouldn’t work with literally every other character in existance. And I’m not putting two booster next to each other because it looks ugly. :< If character has it’s own gravity, then there’s a 100% chance that you can straight up skip the whole section the problem occurs in.
Actually I think it might be in your NEO Emerald Coast though, you should probably test that or at least make the hitbox bigger just in case. Because many chars have different Sizes and can cause many bugs that mess up the game intirely
In the whole N.E.C campaign there’s only one singlular spring chain, and it’s just two pillars extremely close to each other. :worry: And I placed springs in such way that you won’t be able to miss them if you just go with the flow. So I’m clean here for sure.

Aquavine updated Emerald Coast with a new update entry:

The "WAD to PK3, custom save data, unlockables and so much more!" update!

I finally converted this WAD into a PK3! And along with it I added a LOT of different changes and additions!

-Added a custom title screen:
-Added record attack along with 3 emblems for:
Time - 2:00 (JUST LIKE MISSION "A" IN THE ORIGINAL :D)
Rings - 500
Score - 50000
I tested the time emblem and it's obtainable by the whole vanilla cast. (But it's kinda a strech for Fang, you need TAS levels of precision...

Ain't no way⁉️⁉️ (I'm completely not getting ready to upload my first video to youtube. :knuxsmug:)
Post automatically merged:

This was the most abrupt thing I ever did in my life. I made it in like an hour.
I guess this was only a test of how youtube uploading works, so there's a small chance I will make any more videos in the future.
And I was still kinda sad that there's barely any footage of my remake on youtube, so I decided to be the change I want to see in the world! >:D

I don't have any major update ready for the 10K downloads milestone, so I decided to make this art! And I will write a 10 paragraph essay along with it as a form of update! :D

I wanted to release the v1.3 update today, but I think I won't be able due to lack of time. (Unless I rush it, but that's not an option to me...)
So grab these out of context sneak peeks instead!

Aquavine updated Emerald Coast with a new update entry:

The main page is finally rewritten! ^-^ (and some new teasers for 1.3!)

I rewrote the overview page along with a ton (10 exactly) of new and completely Radical! looking screenshots! Unfortunately I have no new version for ready yet... It just takes a lot of time for me to add small features and that stacks up to me having no time to finish the update in a reasonable time. And school doesn't help too... (Me with 3 tests for this single week and 3 more for the next one... :dramahog:)

But I have a really cool thing y'all can...

Aquavine updated Emerald Coast with a new update entry:

Another overhaul update, but this time it's really HUGE! (1.3 is finally done!)

This time I've done most of the hardest and most time-consuming things. And the funny thing is that these weren't even time consuming. All of that could've been done in a single day! :devastation: And this is less of a stage update, but my video of this stage on my youtube channel just hit 1000 views! :D

Anyway, here's what got added and changed:
-I added some more plant life in some spots to make some places less empty.
-Added more shields and hid them...

Aquavine updated Emerald Coast with a new update entry:

Rhinotanks, better jump pads and pre-last major update!

This time I have a bit smaller updated compared to 1.3, but that's maybe because I'm slowly getting close to clearing the whole to-do-list. :knuxsmug:

-Added Rhinotanks and replaced the suspicious lance-a-bot statues with them. Unless the short detection rate of lance-a-bot statues was needed.
-Added rhinotanks and robo-hoods in places not earlier occupied by them. (I hope I won't regret that. :C)
-Redone the jump-pads...

Remember my Sonic X E.C speedrun? I don’t think it was a test of youtube uploading... I think I actually might start making showcases of my maps... And I think that my main content on this channel will be full addon showcases like this one and speedruns of my addons. :3 But that means that this channel might have a shelf life because one day I will run out of maps to showcase... But I still will probably post one video per month/2 weeks anyway. And this is more than enough time for me to cook up some new stuff to showcase.
And this video kinda went through a development hell. :| So for some weird reason Xbox game bar audio recording was breaking around 3 minute mark and it sounded kinda bass-boosted/corrupted. And all I had to do was make the audio quality higher from 128kbs to 160kbs. I already re-recorded a whole 6-10 minute live showcase 4 times before I found a consistent fix for it. And even in the video itself I felt like my movement was kinda stiff, and it’s because I was kinda stressed that I would fumble something that just would be too embarassing to left in the video. (But there still were technical difficulties either way. -.-) It just hits different knowing you’re 5 minutes in into a live played non-replay 10 minute showcase. :C

Also, did you know that if you add a [#] and a space before a sentence in your videos description then it will get bigger and bolded? And I’m not sure if it works on mobile (or maybe my phone is just ancient.) but it does work on PC, because that’s where I mainly post videos from.

And I feel that this video won’t do as good as my first one... Because people are lazy and can’t even watch 10 minutes of peak without losing attention to some familly guy clips. >:C And I still don’t really want to be huge or anything, but still ,seeing your video you worked on have small engagement is still isn’t a great experience. :C

(And my next video will be a marathon speedrun of N.E.C by the way. :> In this video I actually managed to get my new personal best on act 1 which is 1:53! And yes, it’s already recorded. :knuxsmug:)

And now about the stage itsel. I think I will add the chairs afterall, but they maybe will be actual geometry instead of sprited objects, I feel like that might be easier to do in some way.

And I still don’t plan on adding the stalagmites at the orca section, sorgy. :C

And be ready because 1.5 will be hopefully the last and full version of this E.C remake! And because of that it might take a bit before it comes out...

I'm extremely happy to say that the "Finally get over to making sprites for tables, chairs, and beach chairs" entry is finally complete! :D

But I didn't learn how to sprite in perspective, but instead I'm using pre-rendered sprites that were put together by a certain youtuber making his own SA1 styled map-pack which I will credit when the update finally comes out. Along with a shout out for his channel. :>

Which means that after all those months, the ice shard-placeholders are finally gone. And the chairs are actually chairs now...

And the youtuber that allowed me to use those sprites actually decided to make all his assets available via an downloadable archive full of pk3's. And inside the pk3's with the all the pre-rendered sprites, there were lots of other ones like palm trees, stalagmites, plant-life heck there was even tails's crashed plane! And I was wondering, should do the bare minimum and replace only the ice shards, or go the extra mile and use the rest of the sprites?

Here's the list of all available sprites in the pk3:
SA1 Palmtree, a floating rock like the one that holds the jump pads in the original stage, both variants of the umbrella including the straw one, a sprite of a single bridge with a straw hut, the both chair variants, tails crashed plane, two stalagmites, coral, a spiky shrub, a red flower, lily pads, table, two small rocks.

So is it a good idea to implement most or all of these sprites in the stage?
(And before anything else, I'm not changing the palm-trees and the umbrellas. >:C)
