DLL Help.

Hello people, i'm a noob on this forum. i want to start the game, but it says that a libgme.dll is missing. everytime i install it, it installs a DLLESCORT file. and also on the website that i downloaded it it shows a process to do in Windows 8/10. (i have one) that uses Commands and things im not expert. so i just need to have the DLL or i need to do this process? (i tried to start first the Win. file) but when i start the DD. file (SRB2DD) it says is missing the fmodex.dll.

libgme.dll and fmodex.dll should be included with the self-extracting archive from our site (srb2.org), so they shouldn't be missing. Unless you downloaded SRB2 from somewhere else?

DLLEscort is a virus, and is not included with our game through any of the official channels. In the future if you ever need to download a DLL file for any reason, make sure you're downloading only a .dll file or .zip/.rar and not any kind of application (hover over the link if you're not sure). They're small enough that they're offered for individual download and don't need any installer.

I downloaded it from the site, but i downloaded the... 2.1.17 Installer. since i did'nt have the game, i installed this one. but maybe i did a wrong think in the install process. i don't know...

You probably downloaded the 2.1.17 patch. Make sure you download the Installer not the Patch.
In case you downloaded the correct installer make sure its size is around 88mb. Probably the download got corrupt and some files were lost (the missing dll's). In that case download the file again.

Aside from your problem. Be careful with those "Dll fixers" programs. They're just malicious programs. Like it was said before, If you have a dll problem just download files with the extension *.dll or *.zip. They aren't that hard to install so you wont need any malicious "Automatic repair" tools.

I deleted the DLLESCORT.exe file. all of it. it did'nt wanted to delete but i restarted the system and Then it worked. oh, and one more question. how can i make the game run windowed?

If you run the game with command line, you need to add the -win parameter to start it up in windowed mode.

Alternatively, you can just use a launcher to start up SRB2 in windowed mode. This one I personally use currently and I think is good: https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=38488

So, Basically i need to put the launcher in the game's folder, or just start it?

Actually you can make a shortcut to either srb2win or srb2dd (depending on what you use, because these both .exe files change the way the game is rendered, you should try both of them later on) and add -win to the end of the file path to make it run windowed.

But in this case, you would want to run the launcher. You'll find all the options, including the "windowed" toggle

So, the game will start Full screen really full or it will start full screen that can minimize?

Never mind... i already configured it. but how can i change the character color?? (edit) i saw another topic saying you need a devmode... idk what is it..

If you're playing in single player, you can't change colors. You need cheats for that.
If you're playing multiplayer, then you can change colors by going to "Player setup". You can also select a character and a name from there.

Devmode works for Singleplayer only, you can enable it by typing devmode 1 in console then change color using command color "COLOR".

Actually. now i am playing with no errors, thank you all. but.. i am using a wad character. Rouge. (i think you know her from SA2.) so im using the devmode and colors with her. but it says to save progress the game must be restarted, but in the wiki, to remove Dev characters you must restart the game. im using the launcher. but how can i keep her? everytime i quit and add her again.. i lose all the progress. what do i do?

Using devmode and/or a WAD character marks the game as modified and you will not be allowed to save the game until you restart the game.

Unless you add a WAD that creates a custom gamedata, so you will be allowed to save the game on a different save file.

I followed the man's instructions. now i can save. but when i try to play online.. i can't with the wad files. it says: you are modding wad files in some way.
