Windows the Computer

Windows the Computer LTSC (1.72)

TheOneGoofAli updated Windows the Computer with a new update entry:

NTLDR Sysprep / 1.6b

Nothing new has been specifically added for the average gameplay, but there's still some things to be mentioned:
  • MRCE shenanigans:
    • Screen fade should no longer kick in if you're playing with the MRCE hud.
    • Additionally, the MRCE hud now has custom life icons to display for Windows.
    • If playing with CrossMomentum in Dimension Warp, there's musical intercepts that should keep the regular stage music playing.
    • Aerial Garden Zone 3 feels... odd. Be careful...

TheOneGoofAli updated Windows the Computer with a new update entry:

NTLDR Sysprep / 1.6b1

This is a one week(-ish) patch for 1.6b.
  • Fixed the screen fade not occuring related to MRCE additions.
  • Gifting for Extra Life (Classic)'s latest version is fixed - the upcoming Extra Life Revived will also be supported out of the box, assuming no further changes to its' own skin name will happen.
  • Of course, introduction graphic changed to mention 1.6b1 as well.
I am not...

TheOneGoofAli updated Windows the Computer with a new update entry:

Platform Update / 1.7

Been a while, huh? This originally was meant to be released on the day Windows 7 ESU and 8.1 lost support (not counting Embedded versions) as a sort of send-off, but, life got the best of me.
  • Gifting, top speed values and Hyper-like form conditions were hardcoded for the longest time. This update reworks these three things to use tables that are exposed to external scripts via the global WindowsTheComputer variable.
    • You can add custom support for...

TheOneGoofAli updated Windows the Computer with a new update entry:

End of Mainstream Support / 1.71

This is a minor update. Just two oversights fixed:
  • Game Over music didn't play due to P_RestoreMusic being spammed when dead.
  • CrossMomentum wouldn't count for Hyper DirectX Spin Spam.
This has been lying around for months now... and now, I'm letting it out here.
Thank you for 12k+ downloads and 29k+ views, means a lot for this niche as fuck high effort shitpost of a character...

LTSC / 1.72

I do not have anything clever for this one. This has been on the backburner with everything happening IRL for me... so, because I am quite out of practice with Lua and the fact that this had been pretty much complete (I think?) early on presented me the option to publish it at any time.

I honestly do not know what else I would do for the character. Besides a full rewrite, which is not feasable with my current circumstances, Windows is rounded out as ever. Some changes include:

Using Windows sets the special stages to the MP ones for all characters for some reason. If possible you should set them to only change to the MP ones when playing as Windows

Ideally, I'd have tried to use Lua to redirect just Windows to MP stages, however, I'm not exactly in the best position to mess with such. I'd need to handle the player having multiple tokens, too. So, for these reasons, a SOC had been used all this time to alter the 'start' of special stages.

I am sorry for the caused inconveniences.

How cool this looks!! I worked on Cosmetics and added Windows Sounds to make it more Windows like themes. A great combination you think??

yeah uhm for some reason when i was in a server everytime someone dies and the funnydeath thing happens, they suddenly become extremely small
this was in a rp server btw
(also in there when I used the direct-x boost it didnt really let me go fast on the ground for some reason lol)
