Suggestions

Someone might've suggested this already, but now that savefiles support mods, savefiles should log what mods were loaded for that savefile so when it's loaded, the mods logged in the savefile are loaded keeping people from having to track down all the mods they were using to play on a specific savefile.

I would like for Amy to have an ability where she makes a big boom? Idk what you call it, but take her air hammer attack from Frontiers for example where she slams her hammer on the ground when she touches the ground after spinning vertically and it makes a heart.

This time when she does it, it clears nearby enemies with a big boom or not-shock wave. But you have to be in the air spinning vertically with her hammer for a certain amount of time in order for it to work, If you have not been spinning in the air for a certain amount of time, then you get a weaker attack from her.

This might be a bad idea...

New Topic: An idea for Red Volcano Zone's boss: The map is set in a crater. The Egg Mobile that Eggman is in resembles in-appearance, the Hot Mobile/Egg Inferno of Lava Reef Zone from Sonic 3 and Knuckles expect that it has no spikes, and the machine is of gray and inferno orange colors instead of purple. Now it's attacks it can do is cause an eruption in the core of the crater, shoots fireballs from two launchers, and do a flamethrower-like attack using the flame cannon. The name of Red Volcano Zone's boss can be this name: Incineration Egg

I honestly really love this idea! especially the name, I think this should honestly be considered for 2.3, maybe not the exact same, i had a few ideas of my own including a floor sensitive to fire attacks (encouraging the use of the elemental and fire shield [in the case they can be brought into boss fights in the future]), and maybe a little reference or two- too (ha ha two too) to what the old boss could have been back during its initial final demo days- but despite what I just said, I think this has some genuine potential on its own and would love to see this brought to life one day, in a official capacity or not! :wonderful:

Egg Satellite makes me mad. It's requires collect 120 rings with time limit of 160, which is mega insane. And it's has hazards which takes 5 seconds from, and these hazards are mega crazy. For example, the pillars which doesn't let fly normally and puts you on floor and taking 5 seconds, or spinning lasers which spins mega quick so fast you can't avoid them. I want to see an easier version in 2.2.14 or 2.3 idk

Well, it is the last special stage in the game. You shouldn't expect it to be easy. I know it may seem unfair but there is no obstacle you can't avoid in that stage

Honestly I'm still kinda hoping that the RVZ boss is a Mecha T-Rex. References to past games are neat and all but I'm a much bigger fan of when games are able to stand on their own two feet without relying on references, especially given how much recent official games in the series have been over-relying on references and nostalgia bait. An Eggman boss in a huge T-Rex is a fresh idea that's not been done before, and the stage already kind of sets up for it with the primitive dinosaur-esque theme going on. It would be a lot more memorable in my opinion than a boss that mostly only exists to reference LRZ.

In my opinion, the boss machine that Eggman is that I mentioned would be the best idea because it would fit the theme of RVZ. Now the Mecha T-Rex might be too big tbh, unless it was just going to be just the head of the T-Rex and maybe my boss machine idea could also not only be resembling the LFZ Egg Inferno/Hot Mobile but also a T-Rex head too.

So I had an idea for a new ability for Fang. It would basically be he sticks his springy tail into the ground and he starts bouncing up and down, but he doesn't leave the ground. When he's built enough speed, he'd release and go flying off the ground. and he could lean in a direction for when he prepping the move. But instead of sprite work for it, it could just be 2 little huds in the corner. One of a side view of an arrow representing the angle of the launch, then something like the joystick in Record Attack to show the direction of where it would send fang. The way that you'd activate the "Rocket Spring", that what I'm calling this idea that probably won't happen, is that Fang would jump up, coil up his tail into the spring, then press spin and then Fang would start bouncing up and down wildly until you release spin. Pretty much a spin-dash for Fang, except it sends you either vertically or diagonally.

I like this idea too, I was less thinking of a direct reference to the LRZ fight but more as a SLIGHT visual nod, speaking of that (even though i feel like the T-rex idea is a bit much for this game on its own, specially since it would feel out of place against most everything else in the game, the idea feels more adventure-style game like more than classic)

If you'd be ok with it maybe that idea would work better a the pinch phase gimmick? maybe the "egg mobile" you see in the first phase rises to show the whole mech, a smaller but still mighty T-Rex mech, if the idea of the grounded terrain being able to be affected by fire goes through, maybe the Rex' could break platforms along side it? if this sounds like maybe a BIT much and it does feel like a reach, but maybe it shoots the fire out of its mouth like fire breath in the second phase now (opposed to a simple flame thrower in the first) doing more damage to the ground and longer range?

I feel like the idea is solid but for SRB2..... I'm not sure how much it fits the game in all honesty- combing your idea and Blast98's idea and make yours the pinch phase, I think it works better overall but still keeps its originality intact and the memorability may even benefit it as well, interested to see what you think of this.

Yeah, the post is off-topic.

Btw, I suggest adding an option for Sprites to be HD. I'd think people would love that.
that would require completely redrawing all of the sprites in a higher resolution and (if it's not clear) srb2 has a TON of sprites. it's technically possible, but an extremely unnecessary addition and massive undertaking for even stjr to make, let alone modders.

it's also not as if there's any higher resolution versions already, unlike older versions. most (if not all, there might be one or two) of srb2's current sprites were sprited at their current resolution as opposed to being downscaled.

I think the T-rex could work better as a miniboss setpiece before the actual Eggman boss. imagine having to run away from it while it lunges and bites at you, having to jump at its head when it misses. Think something like the T-rex in that old Jurassic Park arcade game mixed with the City Escape truck sequence.
