New track: Delfino Plaza!

Hello racers,

You can now race on Delfino Plaza from Super Mario Sunshine!
This has to be one of the best hubworld ever created for a video game, and because summer is almost here in the nothern hemisphere I wanted to celebrate by turning this level into a course for you to race on!
It was also the opportunity to upload my previous tracks with improvements provided by the incredible jelly.

V2 Changelog:

Cotopack v2.1: some fixes

Hello racers, Cotopack received a few updates that will improve your racing experience.
Special thanks to Pippu for their playtests!

Changelog v2.1:
  • Widened the finish line on Monkey Island. Now racing on top of the wooden barriers or even falling in the water are also considered crossing the finish line. It should allow for fun clutches and less unfair losses.
  • Shrinked the gap after the first jump in Delfino Plaza. Shrunk players were not able to make this jump but it...

Cotopack v2.2: fixed some embarrassing flaws

A small update because some problems were brought to me concerning the Delfino Plaza track

Changelog v2.2:
  • Removed a finish line sector that allowed players to end a lap way too early in Delfino Plaza
  • Added an invisible wall in order to prevent a huge unintentional cut in Delfino Plaza
Thank you Sol for reporting these!

Hello racers, Cotopack is receiving a big update: a new sprint map based on the Spelunky series!
Spelunky 1 & 2 are my favorite games, it was only a matter of time until I'd throw a Spelunky course at all of you.
It is my most ambitious track so please be understanding if you encounter hiccups and send them my way!

Special thanks to the boys Jelly and Diggle for playtesting the track :)

Hello racers, Cotopack has been updated to 3.1 because Delfino Plaza received a few changes.

Changelog v3.1:

  • Removed a boost pad at the end of Delfino Plaza to prevent mowing

Shame to see Delfino Plaza go, but it admittedly didn't have the same quality the other maps have.
Would be nice to see it completely reworked, or even swapped out for a different Mario stage (Galaxy has untapped potential).

If you ever do make another Delfino Plaza map, or just completely remake it from scratch, maybe have the original as the 'classic' version.

Cotopack v4.1: Delfino Plaza Hell

Mario is sent to jail.

It has been suggested to me that it could make a return in the form of hell map and I liked the idea because everyone's a winner, haters can ignore it and enjoyers can have fun.
It's back just in time for the next heat wave so have fun gamers and new map reveal soon I hope.

Delfino Plaza (new map ID: MAPRK)
  • Back from the dead as a hidden map
Puyo Puyo Gardens:
  • Added a way to prevent an unintended cut next to the first set of yellow...

Hello gamers, Cotopack received a big update: a new track inspired by the Touhou games.

I've been thinking of designing a Touhou course but was lacking the inspiration until nekozneko, who worked with me on the track, suggested Youkai Mountain and it immediately clicked! I hope you will enjoy it.

Changelog v5:
  • Added a new map: Youkai Mountain
Special thanks to nekozneko for their help (art clean-up, testing, touhou lore expert) and the Aqua's Karthouse community for their...

Cotopack v6: no arms, no legs, huge features.

Hello gamers, Cotopack received an update: a new track inspired by the first Rayman game!

I was happy to see that the ugly bastard was coming back as DLC for the latest Rabbids game (how ironic) and wanted to celebrate with a track.
I hope that whether or not you are familiar with the series you will enjoy racing through Picture City as I think Rayman features some of the most unique environments from any video game.

Changelog v6:

  • Added a new map: Picture City

Cotopack v7: Mouse Mania!

Hello gamers, Cotopack received an update: a brand new track based on ChuChu Rocket!

ChuChu Rocket is such an iconic title from the dreamcast era that I would even argue that ChuChus are the console's mascots. Anyway I thought that a track based on that game would be a nice closure to my SEGA cup, enjoy.

That's not all, Puyo Puyo Gardens was remade from the ground up. I felt that of all my tracks, this one in particular was suffering from major problems that just couldn't be fixed with...

In Monkey Island, this cut is rather blind, and it would really benefit from having part of the left wall removed a fair bit so players can see where it leads better.

In Youkai Mountain, this is really, really blind.
kart0012.png

You are barely able to see the road you're supposed to go. Meanwhile the shortcut path is in plain view and has eye-catching things such as springs and the ramp flat. The gigantic left-pointing chevron doesn't help you on where to go because the road is practically invisible. You should definitely address this as this is a very glaring visibility issue in an otherwise excellent level.

In Picture City, the music is really loud. Please reduce the volume a bit.

Aside from all of this, I think all of the maps are excellent! Keep up the good work.
