How tf do I taunt with this guy? Toss Flag? I've seen other people do it and it confuses me.

Either hold Toss Flag and Custom 2 or Weapon Next and Weapon Prev. Though you can change those keys to something that is comfortable to use for those.
Plus holding Jump, Spin or both will change the pose of the taunt once you're done choosing the voiceline.

If I'm recalling this correctly it gives you a minor burst of speed, If not just keeping your current speed, Useful if you're in a rush or using a momentum mod!

Not sure if it's fixable on your end but I think 2.2.14/15 broke bouncing a little bit. It locks you out of re-bouncing if you do it on a platform moving upwards. I'm pretty sure it didn't do that before at least in most cases.
Also this is more of a personal thing but I find the 1.8b light dash orbs distractingly ugly. They're way too big and almost kinda get in the way and just look way more like pixelated sprites than the old orbs. I understand the old way wasn't performant for multiplayer but the smaller and more spread-out orbs looked much better. There's probably some kind of happy middle ground. A way to at least turn them off would be nice.

This is likely fixed in the latest testing build of 1.8c though I could look if that bug is there or not. Looks as if that is completely fixed.

Forgot to clarify you need to hold one of those buttons before selecting the line you wish to say. Perhaps a video would've helped though I can't provide it currently.
