What do you guys think about AI?

Why do you want metallic people?
for my clones, I want them to be able to think
I ain't gonna be around to command them forever, they should at least be able to think for themselves
so a better way to say it is "I want my clones to be able to replicate the human brain"

"I want my clones to be able to replicate the human brain"
individuality with individual experiences + unique characteristics all required for that.

You would have to consider them to be the children not a product.

In order to replicate the human brain you have to learn how to live and then learn how to make choices.

Creators of AI put too much emphasis on Artificial Intelligence. They think it's a game changer, a world resolution. Is everyday a climax to them? My thoughts though? Just another piece of junk that some people made. AI also gives lots of people paranoia.

The computer industry is known for making garbage. intelligence is not artificial I would argue, however.

Neural processing is a better term to use to describe something Which has yet to show sentience in mass qualities and Quantity.

I think these systems are cool. They're gonna be very useful in all kinds of sciences, in cancer diagnostics, all that. Awesome stuff really. But it's so cost intensive that it will all belong to big companies. So in the end the control lies solely with those that have lots of money and influence already. That kind of sours my feelings towards "AI".

I'm not too worried about arts and music because a lot of people are discriminatory towards robots. Also to be quite honest, we artists always had it rough. It's unfathomably hard to make a living with that.

What are you even talking about? Also, the "intelligence" is computed, there isn't really a way to discuss it being "Real and Existing". Another thing, don't initiate an argument, it's not worth it.

You are right intelligence is real and existing rather than something that gets spoon fed an algorithm (a computer program) has yet to do anything by itself besides crash and corrupt data.
.
Seems like YOU want to argue again after your last thread got canned hahaha. I was posting here first pal. Take your hate elsewhere.

Corporations are always going to control this technology the amount of hardware that goes into data processing centers is not something you can do with a wimpy home Internet connection and over the counter desktop computer with consumer components.

An organic mind is an unquantifiable amount of memory and processing capabilities with the built-in ability to self-learn without being self-taught.

There was number programmer for organic life it was survival the fittest and survival brought us our intellectual capabilities. AI Artificial intelligence is a fancy buzz term word that has been used since the 80s to describe anything being above the grade computing wise.

I can't say anything without me digging my own rabbit hole?

I knew you would post again proving my point!

I am replying not even reading your post go get your own topic! 😝
Dang...you really don't have friends. It's like your day to day job is arguing with someone as unimportant as me. SECOND OF ALL, in one my reply IT said don't initiate an argument. Well here we are, now we both look like idiots. Also that emoji made me cringe.

We're spending a Saturday afternoon on a message board. None of us have friends.

Im gonna ignore everything here, it became the controversy house
The fact is I have always been on topic I am not reading what you are posting you are clearly off topic looking for an argument take your hate elsewhere.

The only thing you came to do in this thread was take potshots at me get a life.

You have no desire to talk about artificial intelligence neural processing or even a Pentium 3 computer.

None of us have been on-topic for half a page.
I see that the first post was deleted

You were closer on topic Before his I showed up to hate you posts.

Either way everybody was on topic before he showed up to take pot shots.

I believe that generative AI needs to be fixed. I saw some articles saying that generative AI consumes a lot of energy to work and a lot of water to cool down its systems, thus hurting the environment. This is one of the reasons why I want to avoid any AI features as possible.

I also think that AI training should stop taking work from artists, musicians, writers and voice actors, because some of them do not consent for their work to be used for it. Therefore, when you prompt an AI to generate an image or video, write a text, make music, create an "AI cover" or make a character or person say something that they never said, you are probably stealing work from other people.

I am also afraid by the fact that people can create deepfakes with this technology, which would contribute to the spread of misinformation. A watermark should be implemented to avoid this.

Generative AI also needs improvements regarding the generation of content. One time, I saw that some of my classmates were using ChatGPT to solve their homework. I don't know if they checked if the information it gave was correct, but if they didn't, then I wouldn't be surprised if the teachers saw errors in its text.

And one day, when we were preparing ourselves to study a kind-of long literary work for a test, one of my classmates made a summary of it, which was apparently made with AI. When I read it, I was surprised at how the text was so inaccurate, as most of its content didn't coincide with what the literary work really said. I had to point him out that there's literally a website that had the work already summarized correctly.

Good points Alan, I agree wholeheartedly. I don't trust AI one bit for my university work either. My brother studies chemistry and he told me a lot about how AI just cannot solve problems that high. There is a working alternative for maths though, or so I heard. While ChatGPT is awful at math, there's a program called MathGPT that is supposedly pretty functional.
One time a friend of mine was assigned the same group as I in lab class while I was studying biology and he ran short on time, so he asked me to write his part on our experiment analysis aswell. He had like 3 hours to work on it by himself, which I assumed he would do, but instead he gave me some AI slop that I was supposed to figure out. It cited 9 papers, gave sources for 11 and in the end only 7 papers were actually used. It's unreliable, I would've had roughly the same workload if I had just started from scratch. I was a bit irritated at his lack of genuine effort.

The energy needed to use this "AI" Neural processing needs to be spent helping youth expand their knowledge and creativity to bring out the quirks in their individuality that makes art truly art. Even the same computing materials could go into furthering digital art inspired by today's digital artists.

Plagiarism is a problem when it is humans on humans but when a computer program convicts plagiarism it leads to a gray legal area we have yet to address. How do you punish a computer program from taking from individuals hard work? (Compress it in Winrar with password protection 😋)

Generative artificial intelligence is like feedback on an Ebay seller the additional feedback the higher number the likely of accuracy and trust is built. Without verified input you never get any kind of reasonable output. I Definitely question the intelligence side however I question the artificial side because computers are built out of organic metals and minerals and programming still requires an organic play form. (they like coffee)

With deep fakes I remember an old saying "do not take the Internet seriously" I hope we will get to the point where we teach in school about click bait and properly researching anything you read on the Internet as opposed to believing everything immediately.
