Just a minor update I worked on this evening. Fixed that persistent .bat file mistake and the custom color crash bug, plus a few more things. Check the main post for a changelog!

Hi, I'm writing this reply here because me and a friend of mine played yesterday Metroid Vanguard from start to finish in order to do a second playthrough of the mod since we loved it a lot (btw massive props to the work you did on Metroid Vanguard as a whole, I myself love the mod a lot, it's even my favorite way to play Sonic Robo Blast 2 in general).

The reason for the second playthrough was because we heard that apparently Brak Eggman in Black Core Zone Act 3 could become Hyper Brak Eggman if Samus reached that boss battle with 100% completion (aka the Fully Powered Suit) and he would steal the Hyper Beam from Samus. We reached him with one of us being Samus (100% Complete) while the other one was Sonic, and Hyper Brak Eggman never showed up. We repeated the level multiple times with one of us as Samus (100% completion), and Hyper Brak Eggman never showed up. We at first deduced that maybe he didn't show up because our Samushad no Hyper Beam ammo, so we stacked up on it, tried again, and he didn't show up.

My question to you GoldenShine is:
Is Hyper Brak Eggman exclusive to single player runs of Metroid Vanguard? Or can he be accessed on multiplayer runs of Metroid Vanguard? And if he is accessible in multiplayer runs, what are the specific prerequisites to make him show up?

It's true, there's a 100% boss, and it's available in multiplayer too! Everyone must be Samus when you enter the battle. Sonic characters being present stop the event from starting since it's near-impossible for them to contribute to the fight. Unlike the DSZ4 and ACZ4 bosses, which allow Sonic characters to help out while Samus (hopefully) does the main damage, this one's not designed with that in mind. They can switch back to Sonic after the boss' already appeared, just don't expect your friend to contribute much like that.

Also make doubly sure you're actually at 100%. All Energy Tanks, 5 Power Bombs, 10 Super Missiles, 100 Missiles!

Ok, I see. Thanks for the confirmation.

I just told my friend about it, and he was sadly bummed out cause he is enjoying a lot using a Modern Sonic mod for Sonic Robo Blast 2, and he wanted to do a full Metroid Vanguard playthrough with one or more friends as Samus players, but he wants to be Modern Sonic more than any other character in Sonic Robo Blast 2. In our second playthrough of Metroid Vanguard he was able to use that Modern Sonic mod, and he was actually kicking lots of ass, he was even capable of using the Boost and Homing Attack to destroy the enemies in DSZ4 without needing Samus to shoot them, and as for the bosses of DSZ4 and ACZ4, he was able to do lots of damage to them, but he required Super Sonic for it, so we got all 7 Emeralds, and he was able to put up a good fight against them. And yeah, this is the second playthrough I mentioned before where we were unable to get Hyper Brak Eggman.

It would be cool that Hyper Brak Eggman only required one player from the co-op party be Samus (100% Powered Up) and have that player's Hyper Beam stolen, and that Samus has to shoot at Eggman's crystals while the non Samus players would use their Super Forms (or even in their normal forms) to destroy the badniks and later do any damage to Eggman when the three floating crystals are shot down and his barrier goes down. It would make a solid game of teamwork where Hyper Brak Eggman is inmune to damage until the Samus players shoot the floating crystals while the non Samus players have to stay alive and distract or destroy the spawned badniks until the Samus player takes down the barrier so everyone can focus their attacks on the vulnerable Hyper Brak Eggman before his barrier goes up again.

I'll just leave this idea here for Hyper Brak Eggman if you plan on doing a Version 1.3 of Metroid Vanguard where something like this is implemented in co-op playthroughs of Metroid Vanguard.

Another question, is it possible to use Save Files from the Metroid Vanguard mod in a co-op playthrough? Or by default only Play Without Saving is allowed in Metroid Vanguard co-op playthroughs? I ask cause I was unable to use any of my three Metroid Vanguard save files when linking to my friend's private match, it required me to go Play Without Saving to use Samus.

Yeah, the other two bosses are designed to take massive damage from superforms. Brak doesn't have that extra programming. Hyper Brak's size makes his hitbox incredibly glitchy for melee attacks, and his attacks are only really reactable at large distance, that's why it's the way it is. But, your friend can still BE a Sonic character, just have him switch to Samus before the fight starts, then switch back afterwards.

In the ship's OPTIONS menu, second page, there's an option called "Netgame Saves". By default this only allows new save files. But if the server admin swaps it to "ALL", players can use any save file they like, even their old 100% Samus' that they may have created in Single Player, or an entirely different campaign altogether.

Alright, got it noted and just told my friend about it. We'll definitely try it out when we got time to do another full Metroid Vanguard playthrough.

Thanks for the clarifications.

Started playing through this today, and I've encountered an issue with ACZ4 - after defeating Dark Samus, the game crashes consistently during the exploding animation. Both times this happened, I used the Crystal Flash during the fight, so maybe that has something to do with it? I'm on SRB2 2.2.9 and have no other mods installed. My addon load order is SamusMusic.pk3 -> SMCL_Samus-v1.2.pk3.

EDIT: I was able to proceed after beating the fight a third time and beat the game with no further issues. I did get another crash when getting to the Save Select screen though.

Mine crashes with some skin issue whenever I open it. Guess I'd better downgrade huh?
