Pretty sure you kinda know how I performed when testing Samus, but I guess it wont hurt to tell you guys my equipment.

I've got a fine PC, it usually doesnt lag with SRB2, unless there's a huge stage filled with stuff.
My internet is fine too.
I'm from America.
I've played a nice chunk of SA1, but I once tried SA2 and had to quit after 5 minutes of a terrible performance of my PC.
I guess im decently skilled at SRB2.
I dont really have much experience on modding, but i've helped with Samus so I guess that counts lmao.

Once we get a good headstart into Super Sonic, we'll start showing off the actual abilities and raking in a few testers that aren't me and Metal! I'm sure you're all sick of seeing my zero-button challenge GIFs.
I could help Beta Test! I have a bit of experience with beta testing, so I could be a useful asset! I'm always open if you need me!

Like.....do you have a good or bad PC? Good/Bad Internet? Europe/Americas/Australia/Etc Region? Played Adventure 1/2 before? Skilled at SRB2 or not? Experience with modding?

All are useful to testing for different reasons, so just be honest. So long as you're not that guy(ette) who just wants the mod early and rarely gives feedback/reports...


No, I mean....I've been refraining from jumping, spinning, showing Sonic's abilities, etc in all the GIFs so far. I've hardly been secretive about Super Sonic. Whom, btw, judging from Metalwario's custom model renders, I'm extremely hyped to see come to life.

Occasionally, SA-Sonic's intentionally deviates from the Adventure games. It's usually with little quirks like this. Sonic bounces upwards when hitting enemies with the bounce attack. Due to an unintended bug, he does so even from below, but it felt right and seemed like a fun mechanic, so we left it in, even though in SA2 you would've lost all momentum.

If it benefits the player and doesn't feel broken or wrong, we leave it in.

There's some cases where we took liberties for better controls. If you bounce/home onto a horizontal spring/booster/speed pad, it'll snap you into instant sprinting.

I have a good PC, it can handle SRB2 normaly, good internet, im american, I have played SA1 and 2, im kinda skilled in SRB2, and i have experience with modding, mostly spriting of course.
And I do beta test some mods.

Has a decent computer that can run srb2 pretty good, american, good internet, played and beat both adventure games, pretty decent at srb2, I have zero modding experience, discord is djmations#8172

I can beta test! I have a computer than can run srb2 good. I have good internet. Im American Played the shit out of the adventure games and speedrun sa1 sometimes too. I can play srb2 decently now and have all chaos emeralds. I ha.ve never modded srb2 but I wanna learn.

You may need to pick certain people to beta test the SA-Sonic mod and not everyone
like what if you pick someone to beta test the mod and he leaks it? That would be horrible!
 
I guess im trustworthy enough to beta test this mod, because i beta test some mods in the past.
But does being a beta tester of several mods in the past and not leaking them count to being a beta tester of this mod?

I've had that happen to me, and I'm overprotective of private anything, mine or not, possibly because of it happening to me on a game where you can make your very own avatar pixel by pixel, but people can take the avatars you have equipped using scripts, as the game is based in js and online-only. I'm determined to not be a hypocrite, especially in this sense.
 
That's something Shine was telling me to be wary of from the very beginning, which is why for now he's limiting the testing to a few people he knows and trusts.

Yeah there's even beggers who become cringy srb2ubers(srb2 ytubers) and...says some stuff that would get this thread thanos snapped.
 
Alright, so i sound likely not trustable in honest terms, but I'm sure to see some people's feedback about this character. Thanks to the people for keeping this thread alive, and the devs of the mod for knowing it.

That super render looks great, I hope it can translate that golden shine pretty well, Most super sonic's are Yellow but adventure Sonic had a more metallic or shiny type of look I always loved it.
Also any plans for the trailer for it? I remember seeing one for Espio and it was pretty great, Adventure sonic has a lot of style and good tracks to use, SMS & Samsu also had some quality trailers I'm excited to see what you guys can come up with.
 
As much as I would adore testing- even with my love for Adventure 1&2, an interest in modding, decent skill with the game and a good PC, I don't think my internet would be up to the task. With my connection from Canada, I usually play with a minimum of 3-4 frames of delay in Kart and an even more varied number in base SRB2 here. I'd probably find incompatibilities with other mods first considering I mix and match a ton, thankfully! I also have some decent experience looping and compressing music if you guys need that! I'm a-okay if I'm given a pass, considering things probably will be found post release.

Anyways, those Super Sonic renders and the life icon look gorgeous! I also really loved SA1's metallic shine and while that would be super hard to remake in sprite form, I'm sure a skilled MD3 artist would pull off a nice look on textures. I also am really happy about the deviations made, like the bounce attack popping Sonic up more and especially Sonic breaking into a sprint when hitting springs. This is SRB2 after all and this is a mix of Sonics!
