World Map Zone

World Map Zone v1.0

What permissions do you give others to modify and/or maintain your submission?
Modify: ASK ME - Maintain: IN MY ABSENCE - Others must ask me for permission before modifying my submission or use it in their own work, and I reserve the right to say no for any reason. However, if I can no longer be contacted, I give permission for my entire submission to be maintained by others.
Now, Do you remember how in pre-SRB2 2.1, Level Select is unlocked by just completing the game? In today's time, Level Select is unlocked by getting 100 Emblems (Or just half of the 200 total Emblems.). This might made some people ticked off, because no one can earn that many Emblems in one single sitting. Heck, older versions of 2.2 requires you to collect ALL of the Emblems! So now, I'm here to solve the problem.

World Map Zone is basically a Interactive Level Select that has ALL of SRB2's normal zone levels at hand. You don't need to unlock it, just load it up and here you go!

This is also helpful for someone who are under the 100 Emblem requirement who are just hunting for other Emblems in some stage. Please note that you must look for the numbers on the floor to go into the acts. For example, if you wanted to go to Egg Rock Zone Act 1, go into the Egg Rock Zone Themed section of World Map Zone and look for the golden number one on the floor.

I hope you enjoy this normal-sized map! (ALSO BEFORE I END THIS OFF, I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT THIS MAP IS ONLY FOR NORMAL SRB2, IT WILL NOT WORK ON OTHER MAP PACKS.)

it's a cute novelty and it does serve its purpose as being a fun world map, but it's so weirdly laid out that it feels counterproductive. a lot of the stage gates, while i do appreciate giving them a light pillar to show where they are from a distance, seem to be placed in very odd and seemingly out of the way places.

this applies to pretty much every single boss gate, which are super hidden for some reason? the greenflower one is fine enough, but the techno hill one is on a split path in a tunnel to deep sea (which is extremely possible to miss, i almost did), the deep sea one is a very small and unassuming gap in a wall that i ran into by accident, the castle eggman one is hidden behind the castle (which is honestly extremely funny but still not great map design) and the arid canyon gate is hidden behind TNT inside a wall.

these feel like they should be secrets that the player finds by themselves, not the actual main stage gates. again, it's a fine map, it just needs some retooling to actually be an effective world map. i'd recommend taking a look at SRB2 The Past's hub worlds and how it treats stage gates.
