However, if I can no longer be contacted, I give permission for my entire submission to be maintained by others.
Ring Escape is a mod that adds a new gameplay mechanic, allowing you to spend Rings to tech out of hits from items and other track hazards.
Simply press Spindash (or Accel+Brake+Drift) while stunned or spinning out/tumbling to tech, immediately regaining control. This costs 10 Rings to use, but can be performed with as little as 1 Ring. If you're tumbling, you'll also get a short hop forward to assist with getting back on track or out of a pit.
Ring Escapes are not infalliable; when teching your invulnerability gets cut in half (if you would have gotten any in the first place) on top of engaging Ebrake/Fastfall, and a savvy player can use that to punish you further, potentially leaving you in a worse spot than you would be if you hadn't spent the Rings. Furthermore, reckless usage will quickly put you into zero/negative Rings, which of course leads to Ring Stings and losing the ability to escape. Tech wisely!
v1.5 adds the following additional mod settings:

- This affects how many Rings get taken when you perform a tech. Default: 10
- Escape Risk
- Change how much invulnerability teching loses compared to a normal hit. Default: 2 (aka 1/2 invulnerability)
- Escape During Hitlag
- Toggles the ability to tech during hitlag like in v1.4. Default: Off
- Ring Burst on Escape
- If turned on, rings spent on techs get scattered instead of disappearing. Default: On
