THE NEW THOK:

The New Thok is a new ability attempting to polish the base game's Thok, having some new radical visual effects, and some extra new features on top.

Instead of only thrusting you at high speeds, your fall will also be halted temporarily, akin to the Air Dash present in some of the 3D Sonic games.

These features include:

Special Effects!

Some visual flair to inform the player of if they have Thokked, and that they cannot Thok again.

Thok Refresh!

Bounce on top of an object to regain your ability to Thok.

Wall Buster!

Walls that Sonic can destroy by rolling, he can also destroy with the Thok.

Thok-Shield!

You can use Shield Abilities after performing the Thok.

Force Refresh!

Use the Force Barrier after Thok-ing to refresh the Thok. Only works once!

Armageddon Thok!

Because nuking badniks was too boring. NOW IT'S THOKAGEDDON!!!
(...or you can press spin in midair to detonate it like normal, in case you don't wanna fly off the map.)

Speed Thok... wait what!?
The Thok's strength will be increased if you have Power Sneakers or if you are Super Sonic.

Star Thok!
The Thok's air stall will be lengthened by 5... frames(?) if you are Super Sonic or Invulnerable. Based on the Light Arrow Attack's extra air stall.

Hopefully these new features allow the Thok to be more fun than ever before.
NOW YOU'RE THOKKING!!!

Other Miscellaneous Features:

You can now hold `Spin` after Thokking to roll immediately after touching the ground.
You will float in the air briefly if you hold `Jump`, if you tap `Jump` you will fall sooner.
Bouncing on an enemy will also refresh the Force Barrier.

Commands:

LegacyThokSound
[on/off] - Off by default, reenables the old sound effect for the Thok used before version 1.5.2, Sonic Unleashed's sound effect for the airdash.

MomentumThokMode [on/off] - Off by default, changes the properties of the Thok to add to your current speed instead of setting your current speed.

ColorChangeThok [on/off] - Off by default, changes your color to a random color every time you Thok.

RingThokMode [on/off] - Off by default, increases your Thok speed by 1 Fracunit for every ring you collect.

RailgunThokMode [on/off] - ABSOLUTELY OFF YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Its amazing! One thing about this mod i like is the amount of momentum you can gain with this, as using certain characters, modded or not with maybe some little more additions, such as CrossMomentum allows you to blast through zones at high speeds, REALLY high speeds. It takes a bit to master, but its amazing! One thing I would like for you to add is something similar to the Momentum Thok, which gives you some extra height when thokking. Other than that, its amazing.

The miscellaneous updates are great, such as the Thok Refresh and Wall Buster - but I don't like the visual effects at all... that's not a big problem, but I can't take the sound of the Thok. I saw there was a command to change the sound, LegacyThokSound, but both arguments don't leave the sound of the Thok vanilla. I wanted the vanilla sounds...

TL;DR: If you made an alt download with only the QoL improvements from this mod, without adding Visual Effects or a different sound, I'd be so happy and I'd give five stars.

I made the visual be a thok ring based on how Sonic 4 has a splash ring effect appear when sonic uses an Air Dash.

The sound used is the Thok sound from the vanilla game, but with another sound played on top of it for extra oomph.

Sorry that you don’t like either of these changes.

Aw hell naw bro removed herobrine! anyways I think you should add a kind of like stomp thokking thing if you hold shift to get a bit of verticality. it works the same as the regular thok, letting you thok after you've bounced off a badnik or capsule or something. this way guarantees that elemental shield still has use and if not increase its hitbox by a bit so it does.

That's momentum-based thok that you added actually makes me actually enjoy the mod now (plus it's goes hard with momentum mods lol) also thank god, you added that letting go the jump button actually makes you stop floating, it's mod even better, 5/5

(also ignore that the OG Thok was momentum-based, I was trying to say if you Thok and jump before hitting the ground at the right time, you carry that Thok's momentum, letting you actually chain it if are good enough at it, sorry about that)

Thanks, I'm glad my updates have made the mod more fun for the players.

I've played most major versions of SRB2, (Halloween, Xmas, Final Demo, 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2) and have used techniques like Thok Chaining. (If you do it from a standstill its almost like a Spindash Jump, without the worse air control... of course, timing it right can be difficult).

Also, in this mod you can hold spin after Thokking to spin immediately when touching the ground, which should make Thok Chaining easier!

yo I'm on my alt because I forgot to add something.I think you should also add a speedrunning mode where if you tap jump after you thok it slows you or stops you. also add a jump thok option or a hold to thok, tap to double jump (if you want to) this is just to make it easier for speedrunning it. I also think a proper redirection for the thok would be better as if you try redirecting it slows you down or doesn't change your direction at all. these are just suggestions and would give this even more gameplay and variety

I considered a Stop-Thok, but I think it would do one of two things:

A. Undermine it's synergy with Shield Abilities that stop you (Such as Force Shield's ability).
B. Bloat the controls with too much stuff, making it too complicated.

this is definitely a thok addon


yeah i don't have much else to say it's a good replacement
definitely prefer it over the wacky hoohoo spin that was teased for 2.3 at one point even though i know that one was scrapped
