Are you sick and tired of vanilla Sonic? I know I am! This Sonic has a different move set to give him a 'modern' feel to it while keeping it classic!

I'm not a critic, I'm not going to say "it's just an S_SKIN and some reusable luas slapped on with no real effort"

I like the idea, and concept. Taking a base character, and changing how they play, even if it's mostly stuff from other people. This Sonic definitely feels like a new, inventive way to play as Sonic, even if there's not much to it. I'm glad to see more people modding SRB2, even if it's primitive add-ons, and I give this 5 stars. Great job, and I look forward to seeing what you could do in the future. :)

Custom 1 would enable it and it would give you hyper stars and make you faster. Then if you have all seven Emeralds, it would transform you into super. There would be a command to disable the override.

literally just a s_skin with a few reusable luas slapped on (as the other reviews have said)
imo you shouldve just released this after learning how to properly make lua/custom abilities (also, calling this "better" is a bit odd)
some of the skincolors are fine, i guess..?

this is a good first mod but i think you shouldnt reuse multiple luas and put them into one. most people like sonic characters that go fast, are vertical, and have a good moveset in general. this is just a bunch of moves squished together into a low quality soc mod -- thats not me saying i dont applaud your efforts but you should make the lua yourself so you can make your own moves that are fun and mesmerizing to play around with and a clean cool sprite.

I'll keep that noted. I'm currently working on a completly different moveset for sonic (keeping only 2 borrowed Lua's) I'm currently trying to learn Lua, how it works and what it does. Now I'm not really interested in adding in new sprites, unless I am convinced, given some or is able to find some I can use(which all 3 is unlikely)

I mean, yeah, it's exactly what it is, another Sonic edit. KirbyAnniv summed up some of my words, being that yeahhh this is just an edited Sonic mod with a bunch of luas and other various reusable add-ons from elsewhere just thrown together to make an unbalanced Sonic. First mod, I'm guessing? I hope you can improve overtime.

I'm current working on making my own lua's instead of using others. Yes this is my first mod, and this mod is planned to be a vertical sonic while keeping sonic's fast pace. First things first, I'm working on making the regular thok doable bu pressing spin mid jump, editing climb spin to remove errors and possible edit some things in there, adding some other characters
with tails being next. I was thinking about adding some custom ability to replave homing thok entirely giving him something unique that most other sonic lua's don't have, but that willl be made much later. Trust me, I hear your issues and i'm trying to figure out how to lua as a whole. And yes, this is my first mod.

This is one cool mod! The climbing animation, all the little visual effects that swarm around Sonic, the dust trails on the wall, it's all very appealing. I'm glad someone finally went ahead and made a version of Sonic that prioritizes the Climb Dash, and I'll be very interested to see where it goes from here. As someone with a particular fondness for mods named "Blue Streak," I must say you did a great job!

I will be honest, this is really bad, it makes me wonder how it even was accepted, for the first part, the file name isn't right, there is no file name conventions, and the mod is literally a simple edit of Sonic's SOC. Anyone who learned how to SOC can do this in seconds. Checking the code, I believe the only code he wrote was Redirect.lua. This is such a baselevel change that I can teach a toddler how to do this in a day. This mod just feels like a compilation of reusable addons to make a mediocre at best Sonic. I didn't want to be this critical on one mod, this just feels so low effort. In my opinion, to make this mod a little better, Sonic should be given some type of way to go fast, as he lacks that right now, and if we don't include all of the other Lua, he doesn't have a to go up, which base Sonic doesn't have, but would be nice on a modded Sonic. Making the homing attack a flow type of move would also be useful to this speed. TLDR: Mod feels low effort, to make better, give Sonic speed and verticality. Sorry for the long review

Hello! I read and acknowledged your issues, first off, The second version will have custom made Lua's or at least a modified version of one, which the modified version will become a base for my own Lua's in the future. now about the speed,
I wanted the thok to be 'adventure' accurate making the thok not speed reliant, and making making him more vertical to catch up with Tails and Knuckles. See this sonic isn't about speed making him more 'controller friendly' as I play with a controller myself and it's a bit harder reacting to speed then on Keyboard and Mouse.
