NNNO WAY! I CAN'T BELIEEEEVE THIS!
Pretty sure she's talking about what you call X Sonic's "Drop Dash". Calm down and realize that she's clearly talking about two different things. A Drop Dash, and a Momentum Roll. We've established the origin of the Drop Dash, so we know what it is. However, she mentions a new concept, a Momentum Roll. Nobody has brought it up before, but X Sonic's "Drop Dash" being an actual Drop Dash has been contested, so "Momentum Roll" seems to be referring to X Sonic's move as something different entirely.SO MUCH FOR NOT WANTING TO TAKE THIS FURTHER THERE IS NOT A SINGLE GAME I EVER HEARD IT CALLED A MOMENTUM ROLL
I do agree with her as calling it a Drop Dash is very generous. Drop Dashes give substantial amounts of speed while X Sonic's move kind of just allows you to redirect speed you already have as far as I can tell. If it adds extra speed, it's an incredibly marginal amount.
You also can't do it from a standstill. One of the best use cases for the Drop Dash (in classic games, at least) is going from completely idle to a fast pace in a snap, while any speed from X Sonic's "Momentum Roll" is speed you pretty much already had from his ground movement.
