X sonic dark emeralds

I recently installed the X Sonic add on to my game but for some reason the dark emeralds don't seem to appear even though they did when I first started playing him.
What's even more odd is that I had them all unlocked even though I didn't enter any commands to do so, thus I deleted my dark emeralds progression but the problem still persists.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
Edit: I managed to make them appear again by using the command to delete X Sonic's progress, since it didn't work by deleting the fake emeralds progress

Are you using only x sonic or are you using mods other than him and what i mean by that is if you enter a level mod or pack you have to collect the emeralds again

I think I see the problem. if you collect the dark emeralds, then it's basically free. but if you exit the game and re-open it, the dark emeralds will be gone. you have to collect them again to get dark sonic. this happened to me 10 times in a row already. and I hate it so much... but if you manage to get the chaos emeralds first and then the dark emeralds. then now it's really free to use. go and try it. see if you believe me

I downloaded the Xpack and Nu Angel Island, so maybe that's what messing with the emeralds, but even then they are nowhere to be seen
