Its a bit of a bold statement, but ive only really seen about 10/11 people on a server. Only once.
Maybe people just dont like playing multiplayer as they cant use their own addons they have downloaded, which is fair enough but with how many people play this game i was very surprised to see a server with 5 people at the top of the server list, when filtered by most players, and showing all servers.
Also kinda sad theres no major hangout servers either, at most if you find one, you join it, theres maybe 2 or possibly 3 other people there, they run around a bit then leave :(
or maybe im too used to playing roblox idk:oh:

There used to be many servers around v2.2's release until it started to get a bit empty (after some servers didn't come back, or just haven't returned after they came back). It's concerning for most players that have played 2.2 before or people who played most of the original SRB2 versions when they had the master server for most of them. It also depends on the person if they're either bored or wanna leave the server because there isn't anything "new". It's better to either play Single-player with mods or just go play a different game (if you don't know which server you wanna go to).

A lot of players are on the younger side and many of them right now would currently be in school or in college (so a bit less time to spare for personal interests like games).

Besides that, most players will generally not commit to a single game for years and years on end, so some might fire up SRB2 again when a major new mod or level pack drops.
