What was your first introduction to srb2?

I discovered it WAY back when I was in elementary school watching an automated YT playlist of MaskedMetaknight4 on my TV, never paid attention to the name nor did I remember it, so I never really caught onto it. Plus, I only watched the videos when they popped up in my recommended. But when 2.2 was released years later I went "HOLY SHIT. THAT'S THE GAME I USED TO WATCH, BACK WHEN MY VOICE SOUNDED LIKE A RUBBER DUCKIE!!!!!!1111 IT LOOKS SO GOOD NOW", and along with actually having a computer that I could use, I went ahead and downloaded it.

It even gave me more exposure to managing files and it partially taught me how to unzip/extract files with 7zip, since, I think, there was no "Setup Wizard" that could quickly just extract itself and put it in the right place for you and everything

I think around December 8th, 2020. I must've saw videos on SRB2, when I wanted other sonic videos. Although, I think that's how I got into the game. At least I (must've) saw the Old Message Board when I was getting a Junio Sonic addon.

Got a laptop when i was 7, was watching sonic on it and found srb2. That laptop was ass tho. Lagged to hell. It was only when i got my current laptop that I remembered SRB2 existed and downloaded it. Was the first thing that i downloaded (except for Roblox but i never played it anyway)

Having an old Pentium 3 500mhz computer not being able to play these fancy games like crisis (lol 2008) ended up with ZDoom then skulltag naturally when I heard about a sonic theme applied to the doom engine I jumped for it.

Played a lot of net games online back in the day was super active in skulltag at the same time.

Fast forward over 15 years later and this is an extremely polished release not much to say for skulltag unfortunately.

On top of that for us old timers I was extremely and ironically impressed to see Intel graphics finally being able to run OpenGL that used to be a huge issue if you remember.

The End
And I don't know what I forgot here?

I think it was around 2018 or 2019 (can't remember, memory's fuzzy) when I found an SRB2 video showcasing a level mod that was some white cube-like maze puzzle level, can't remember what the stage was called. Note that this was before 2.2 came out so this was likely in the late 2.1 era. I still have the folder where I downloaded all of my 2.1 addons too.

EDIT: I found the mod, it's called "The Cube" and was made by a user named STHE123O

or atleast thats how i came back to srb2, i forgot how i first found it...

I was hyperfixating on PaRappa the Rapper and found SSNTail's reupload of the PaRappa clip from A Pocket Lapse, checked his channel, found the demo 2 beta video while somehow missing the v2.0 beta video, found a demo 2 installer, had it for a month, completely forgot about it. About four years later I found a video about a Mario Odyssey addon for 2.1, got 2.1 and found installers for 2.0 and FD 1.09.4 and that's it really.

(I didn't know 2.2 released until 2022, I thought people were just using a really fancy graphic replacement)

Believe it or not, 10 year old me liked watching Blue Television Games. And the first video I saw was his Deltarune related video. (Good mod, by the way. DrStephen rocks.) Ever since, I'd been wanting to play. I started playing two or three years ago, and ever since, I've beaten the game a GRAND TOTAL OF.....5 TIMES!!!(Not a lot lmao)

My first exposure to SRB2 was in the form of a list of the oldest Sonic fangames I'd discovered whilst going down the Sonic Fangames rabbit hole back in 2019. I downloaded the game on Christmas Day of 2019, and played all the way up to CEZ2, where the game promptly crashed due to how absolutely horrid my old PC was. I've been playing it regularly ever since.

First saw SRB2 in one of AntDude's videos. Looked cool but I didn't care all too much. Then on a random day I ran into the deltachars trailer which actually made me a bit interested in SRB2... For a little bit until I forgot about it. Eventually I randomly decided to hop on some servers in SRB2, which ended up in me finding McFly's PT, which led me to Zyphyrs PT, which led me to Bootleg, which after it went under led me back to Zyphyrs and after that I kind of just started doing more SRB2 things in general.

I first saw SRB2 in 2021 via a short, no-commentary video of Junio Sonic speeding through a custom map which had a lot of springs IIRC. I remember it had a frame from Sonic Mania Adventures in the thumbnail. Then around August of that year, I first played SRB2 on my phone, and fell in love with the game.

i think i first saw SRB2 in those hamitto's zombie escape mod videos back around 2022, got interested and played ZE till like end of 2022 when my PC broke, got a new pc around early 2024 so i decided to download the game again, and because i was a pizza tower fan around that time i joined Zyphyrs servers and here i am, recently took a break of SRB2 due to school but im back.

I found out about srb2 when i was 8 iirc. I watched a video by Marius [Urucu] and downloaded it cuz why not. Thats kinda it really, although I like to think about how bad I was at the game compared to now. Like I hated modern sonic back then because i couldnt control the boost well, now i love him.

I remember around the early to mid 2010's, I saw a final demo era SRB2 YTP which is now unfortunately lost. After that, it was a showcase of that Sonic's Schoolhouse addon from 2.1

My first ever intro was someone on a discord server I frequent getting excited about the Chaotix Mod. I technically got introduced way earlier by way of SRB2K, but that had grown into its own thing long before I'd even heard of it, so I don't consider it a proper intro.

I started playing because of an antdude video i watched sometime in 2020(Probably this), I knew about the game before not sure from where exactly but i remember hearing about it, but I choose not to play it because I never really liked the 2d sprites in 3d look so when he mentioned that there were 3d models that got me to start playing but ironically It took me a while to figure out how to turn them on so for most of the vanilla game I played without them and it wasn't until late 2021 or early 2022 that I figured out how to use models for moded characters
