Translucent designs and Kartmaker

Will kartmaker recognize that elements of a character are meant to be translucent? I've got an OC with a visual gimmick inspired by those "Rock Candy" wii controllers and I wanted to carry that element over to their sprites. I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume the transparent spritesheet would come in handy for this

I don't think the engine even allows for semi-transparent pixels.
