The numerous problems with the new SRB2ffh

I am absolutely enraged about the new SRB2ffh, because it's caused all kinds of problems. First of all, I had hoped that it might have solved the 'page is disabled' difficulty of the previous site, but it hasn't. Second of all, the downloading procedure is more confusing. Third of all, the site change means that literally hundreds of links to files on the old site, including the one to my first level pack, have become useless. Why the heck did they have to do this to loyal SRB2 fans?
 
Because these 'loyal fans' were eating up over 200gb of downloads per day, which was causing the owner of the FFH to get in trouble with the server admin because these 'loyal fans' were wasting all the server's bandwidth by downloading (and uploading) terrible wads. If you don't like it, tough, tell the fans not to host so much crap on the FFH.

Not with the script installed beforehand, no (nor this one, actually). They shouldn't have to. >_>
 
I have to say, the new FFH sucks. Especially downloading. The damn thing downloads somewhere from 50 to 175 kb then stops.
 
I know. As I said, I hate it, and the worst things, in my opinion, are that (1) the links from the old FFH didn't transfer over, cutting off access to over a thousand WADs, and (2) the files list is STILL disabled.
 
I don't like entering a code before I download. I would be able to live with it, except the coding behind the scenes expects me to download it, when I'd rather just open it on the spot and not bother saving it.

I get the feeling I'm going to have to get my hands on a Servage account or two before I finish the super not so secret YouSRB2 project (When it's done™). Servage are the ones that provide supersanctuary with hosting, by the way. Changes are it'll be y1.srb2.org, y2.srb2.org, etc, for each of the accounts. :3 Helps balance the load, you see, coupled with the quality control to keep out the crap, I can't see any previous-FFH level problems happening (Our server guy would kill me if we were using 200gb+ a day, we only have 1.5tb to play with you know.

Either way, as my father says, like it or lump it, JJ doesn't even have to provide you with the FFH, but he does because he wants to help you guys by providing a free, easy to use hosting service. Unfortunately, people abused it which has caused the implementation of things like the image verification.

You people seriously need to start realizing that you aren't somehow owed this. Someone is generous enough to allow you to use their webspace for this, and instead, you whine about how it's not exactly how you'd like it, despite that the reasons it isn't the way you want it were given. Grow up a little.
 
I would like to apologize for even introducing this topic. I felt like I wanted to vent a little, but I never meant this to erupt into an argument.

We weren't arguing XD
 
I use 4shared because i get to manage my uploads and if i update a file i can keep the original link which saves me the job of changing the link every update.
