Stuff to put in 1.09

I don't see why anyone had to pull this off topic. It was a simple comment. You might not like Pokemon, but we don't care in this topic. You just threw the whole thing off on a tangent because you arrogantly had to state that you don't like Pokemon. What did you hope to accomplish?

Sorry about that ^^' Well, here's my 2 cents.

A lindef special that will change the current sprite being used.
Ie: You put in a sprite that looks like Sonic is grinding
The linedef length is set so that this sprite displays when you are in the sector.
So Sonic steps into a sector that looks like a grinding rail and then looks like he is grinding.

Don't know if it's possible, don't know how well it would work >.>;

I'll have you know, rails don't need to be sloped. So no, I don't think anyone is forgetting that.

If you really wanted to, you could make sloped rails, they would just be stairs, though x.x.

But it would only look right in OpenGL mode. To the best of my knowledge, sprites are always facing the camera in software. I'm not entirely sure how that all works though.

Making new enemies, levels, bosses, powerups, character obileties, more characters and new level music would be nice.
You could get an inspiration from Crash Bandicoot and Neo Sonic Universe (Get it at www.acid-play.com/download/neo-sonic-universe/ )

That's not the easiest thing to do. Even if we just wanted more levels, you try making a single player level as good as what we have now. It's pretty damn hard. As for new bosses, we've been asking for that for more than a year, we're not getting anywhere with bosses. And for abilities, what are we going to have? Sonic can do his thok, Tails can swim and fly, Knuckles can climb and glide, what else are going to have. Now music and powerups, that is something we could use more of, and I don't think we need to build GFZ2 in real life to do it.

EDIT: Just to clarify, look at who is making this. AJ is more than a little lazy, Mystic is better, but not by much. Arrow, I don't think he's done anything in a while. That leaves a441, and as much of a not-fan of him as I am, I have to respect that he's been working hard, but he is only one person, and he says he has a life, and I'm inclined to believe him. (Feel free to correct me on these).

EDIT2: Longest post I've ever made. *hit by tomatoes*

All of that requires a vast amount of work. Let's say a new badnik has... 3 frames of animation for walking. 3 frames of animation times 8 directions is 24 frames.

Now he has two frames of animation for his attack. That's another 16 frames. That's 40 drawings for 1 enemy with minimal animation. Crawlas have something like 10 frames of animation for their movement (80 total) because of their tank treads moving.

That's not even coding how this badnik moves or behaves.

So stop and think how much work a new badnik or a new boss requires.

And Music? As far as I remember SRB2's entire soundtrack is done, and has been for years now. The only reason it's not included in the demo, is because out of SRB2's 30-40mb filesize, 25mb of that is taken up by music alone. (Case in Point: a441's "SRB2 Lite", which is SRB2 minus all the digital music, is 7mb)

If they included every SRB2 song within these demos, we could probably expect 60-70mb, and not too many free sites would be willing to host. SRB2's had trouble in the past already as it is finding a place that'll keep a 35mb file up.
