Flame: If it were possible, don't you think I would have done it already? Dur. I don't get lag or freezing outside of netgames, though. I assume you would have control of the console commands, but your ability to control how the bot moves would be nonexistant.

aiai: "how do I add bots I tried it didn't work?" is not a question, it is a run on sentence. You cannot add bots in SRB2 normally and this is not the thread to ask for 1.09.2 in. Please leave.

Kroze: I still blame Alam for everything, thanks.

Testers: No. You do not like testing. There are no bugs to be found. I do not make mistakes. I find all my own damn bugs, even if I have to resort to pulling out my laptop and trying to play from both sides at once. :E
 
What is the Lag caused by exactly?

Is it caused by some specific code embedded in Srb2JTE?

(im sorry if im asking so many questions... i just have alot on my mind, and please... i dont want any rude remarks please...)
 
Apperantly Shuffle is having the same problems with his TML mod as well for netgaming...
I now think its a 1.09.4 problem...
Therefore JTE is right to blame Logan...
Now to gather the massive army to march on his kingdom!

Fixing this all is frustrating... :? And I'm really hating how horribly easy it is for the netcode to break... It's discouraging... Why make such big, fancey things... if they just crash and burn before they're even near to complete?...

Even so, I continue... Really no point in it, but I've been at work... Match bots are in, though they don't use their abilities either and aim where you are rather then where you're going and don't dodge... Maybe it's better to make them functional at most things first before getting fancey with any of it, so in case I suddenly leave again you have something...?

SRB2 Universe is still horribly incomplete... :( No fun, no fun... I must fix...

It almost sucks that adding SA City to SRB2JTE has become nearly pointless due to all the new linedef execs and scripting thingys... :| There are few things left I can do with only programming, in-game menu systems and Waiting Zone among them...

Chaos Control has been tweaked a bit, you can no longer change direction while teleporting and it costs you a ring every 4th of a second regardless of if you have a Chaos Emerald or not... I hope that's enough to make it more "fair" but I think it'll need to drain even faster... I'm still a little worried about how I'm gonna recolor Shadow's grey to gold as well for super...

Haven't added Mecha Knuckles yet... Wonder what kinds of abilitys he'd have?... No l33t super form for him, though. :E

Yay!!! i cant wait for the Srb2JTE bots :D

Also... for the chaos control thing... can you make it like the Shadow the hedgehog game? like when you do chaos control, it takes you through the level (Making points in the game that you hit and then go onto the next point)

OK then... forget about what i said about Chaos control... i just thought it would be a good idea at first :roll:
 
I wouldn't be able to do it either way, I have never played Shadow the Hedgehog. Chaos Control remains nothing more then a screwy Thok which goes down at a set speed rather then being affected by gravity and allows temporary noclip.
 
For Metal Sonic, it would look nice and would make sence if he slowly floats down when he's running at full speed and falling. Like when you run out of a high sector, Metal would "glide" down, to make it look more realistic to his floating ablility.
 
And I suppose you want him to be able to break through floor spike things and enemies when running full speed, too? :P

Bots in netgames are screwy. Netgames in general are screwy. But at least they work in a few other gametypes now. Somewhat.
 
Well it would be uber l337, but people would cheat all the time. Maybe if you replaced the spinning with the black shield to do so, like you intended the first time.

And if netgames with bots are screwy, why add them? You already have the power of a joiner to help you out, you don't need a bot. We all know having srb2jte handle more power to control the players and bots is hard, so you might as well not put them in.

You realise it is to do with playing against bots, Don't you?
 
1.69.7 released. I don't care that bots are crashy and broken, I had to release something before I started to lose interest again.

Don't use Soviet Russia Blast 2. It cause rings to fly right into you and makes sonic (or whoever your playing as) go in random positions and stuff. It makes the game crash easily. I see that you got rid of some of the springs to the top of the red building. And you added some more rooms. Also you used the Radical City music for Sonic R instead of the national anthem. Bots are going quite fine but they are doofuses in games other than match.

Well i was playing srb2JTE and i was netgaming with a bot... I manage to kill a Bot and then the bot manages to kill me, the instant i respawn I crash...

and i tried this again... but this time the bot i was versing Crashed the game when the Bot respawned...

Im thinking this bug comes from the Respawning of Players/Bots

Also... I used the supervirus on A bot... and i must have decreased his rings down to zero... the instant i think i done that... the game crashed...

other than those bugs... Nice job... *Continues to play*
 
Yes, respawning makes bots crash. I have no clue why. I already told you bots crash and when you add them to a netgame, new joining people will appear inside the bot until you kick their node. (Kicking the bot leaves the player connected, yet not in the game. I have no clue what that looks like from their end.)

I have never had any problems with Soviet Russia Blast 2 aside from using the character "Sonic & Tails"... but then, I was always using the character Knuckles. If you select "Soviet Russia Blast 2" and go to the difficulty select menu from there, you can back out of it and go to level select instead and it'll still be in Russia mode, if you want to skip to the first Eggmobile boss or something.

I spent a lot of time on Soviet Russia Blast 2, those rings especially, so it's quite a shame to see it go to waste... Try doing the obvious thing and play on Ultimate difficulty to get rid of the rings so you can see the rest without worry? While the "Ultimate" difficulty level doesn't appear on the normal Soviet Russia menu, you can trick it by starting a normal Ultimate game first and then going into the Soviet Russia Blast 2 menu. It'll change modes instantly. This will cause consistency failures in netgames, you cannot netgame in Soviet Russia Blast 2 mode unless you all do it before you join or something silly like that...

... Oh wow. It appears this bug only occurs in Software mode for some reason, and your character is still drawn even though it should be invisible. I can't run SRB2 in software mode due to my monitor lacking support for anything under 640x480 resolution (Even 640x400 is unacceptable). Thus, I must say... SOFTWARE MODE IS UNSUPPORTED AND MAY CRASH YOUR COMPUTER, KTHXBYE.
