okay so when I try to play the earliest version on the site, it says that I'm missing a "CNCS32.dll" file, anyone have the original?

Just make dll files that say "CNCS32", or copy existing ones and do the same step 2.

I had the same trouble a while back, luckily some ass old thread on the MB led me to some website where you can download .dll files from an archive.
