SONIC THE HEDGEHOG X

BE SURE TO PLAY THIS IN OPENGL MODE ONLY,OR THE TEXURES WILL BE MESSED UP IN SOME MAPS.


I renamed the WAD FILE, hopefully that the name is good,still same zones dont' worry.

It's now with LEVEL HEADERS, so that is fixed.
And a thanks to a mod who fixed the pictures. :)

That's right i'm planing to make 16 ZONES,renamed a few of the zones and order.





Q:What will this WAD have?
A:Alot of stuff,but I think if you ask a one subject,I may able to give you an answer.

Q:How many ZONES are there going to be?
A:16 no joke, and thats my goal.

Q:Where there be Chaos Emearlds?
A:Yes, there will be,whats a Sonic game without them?

Q:How can I get a Chaos Emearld?
A:By finding the SPEACIL STAGE TOKEN,Which is found in ACT's 1-2.

Q:What will happen if I get all 7 Chaos Emearlds?
A:You can able to turn into SUPER SONIC,but you need 50 RINGS to do so.Also you can enter the EXTRA ZONE.

Q:How hard will the BOSSES be?
A:Well the BOSSES will be hard but I can't change what they will use...it's a secret...

Q:Is there a FINAL ZONE?
A:Yes.

Q:Is there going to be an EXTRA ZONE?
A:Yes,but only SONIC can enter it if you gotten all 7 Chaos Emearlds,also you must be on NORMAL or higher.

Q:What will the EXTRA ZONE HOLD?
A: 3 ACTS, on the 3RD ACT, you change into SUPER SONIC and you have to find a Teleporter to the BOSS.Be sure to grab alot of rings in here otherwise you will die if you RING COUNT hits 0.

Q:In the finel release,will this be in a LEVEL PACK?
A:Yes,but thats only the FINAL RELEASE,which will be in the *Releases Forum*.

Q:When will the FINAL RELASE be?
A:How should I know? Till i'm done making da levels.

Q:Will there be EMBELMS?
A:Yes, and if you get the right amount,you will unlock some exrta stuff.

Q:How many in each aera?
A:Hmmm.... there will be 3 in each area(1 in the EXTRA 2 ACTS),but i'll put down in which they won't appaer....

A:Only 1, and it's hidden.

A:I am thinking about that....

I'm not going to download this, but I am going to guess that the End Sign is broken, your map lacks thok barriers, is cramped and too linear, your rings aren't floating (I can already see that by your screenshot), and is really boring to play. *hit by Dr Robotnik's tortise-bomb*

You do know that I found precisely 509 Rings in Jade Coast 1, right? Well, now you do.

What are you talkin about? This level has a well working exit-sector with an end sign inside it and a bordering thok-barrier!

But he is right with the other points...
- You should make the rooms at the player start a little bigger. They are too small and you can not see very much.
- It's generally good to make wide open areas, but if you make them there has to be something to see. There are parts where you are running threw a giant field full of nothing but enemies.
- Which leads to the next mistake you made. Putting thousands of enemies into one room doesn't make it really harder. It just looks annoying. You might put in more scenery (not only scenery-objects, but hills, rocks...etc.) and take less enemies. Remember that Sonic games are basically platforming jump n runs. :wink:

This should be no insult, but constructive critisism. In the end you did the basics and you tried to put in some interesting places and secrets. Just try to be a little bit more creative and work threw your map again and it might become a good one. :)
 
I know that...

I am having a hard time getting them to work.

When I run the soc with the changes on it WARNINGS appear and it fails to run the SOC.
 
Headers arn't hard...open up the map in XWE and then go to entry, then new. call it MAINCFG and type in the header stuffs
 
Actually there's a much easier way, Use srb2 Builder, Make a MAINCFG lump and then stick all your level headers in there...

Hello, I just played the second and third level. Second was a tad fun, not confusing, but not necessarily great, either. The third was just a generic boss level, Nothin' special.
 
How do I make a MAINCFG file?

Also whenever I edit the MAINCFG in my SRB2 Doom Builder this error comes up.

Run-time error '339':
Component 'cmcs21.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly register:a file is missing or invalid
