some questions about the reusability of mods

is it "legal" to make patches or luas for already existing character and publishing them? And can i post recolors or edits of mods on a discord server but still crediting the author? and with reusable mods i need to give the credits?

I don't think it's a matter of legality (because SRB2 is still using an IP that doesn't belong to Sonic Team Jr.) But when a mod is explicitly said to have some reusable content it doesn't mean just talking everything, change one small element and repost it as an original work.

We can't police lazy edits on Discord servers we're not in charge of. However, if such files are hosted on our Master Server, you might find yourself banned from it, depending on what the edits are or what the original files were.

Good to know, it's better to not let problematic and stolen code circulating around the games like nothing.
