[Reusable] Some MB Levels

This thread contains content that may be reused, modified, or ported by anyone.
Mikhael Blur submitted a new resource:

Some MB Levels - There should be ONLY Bricked Busted Zone (DX Version), buuut...

Yeah, it's took kinda long to made extended version of Bricked Busted, because I had a lot of ideas in my head + things to do irl, but whatever. I will please you a little with the fact that there are 2 more levels, one of which needs to be opened by collecting emblems.

Bricked Busted Zone DX (from OLDC 2021 Round 2)

i think he was really mean to ppl and broke the rules
That is unfortunate, as it is clear to me that the levels he presented to the community were very well put together and had challenge without being unfair. Hopefully, he will learn whatever he needs to learn and be able to come back with new content sometime in the future..

Mikhael didn't broke the rules of SRB2 MB. He was banned for submitting an asset with gimmicks again which was rejected because sonic1983 helped with lua scripting. Mikhael removed him in credits, sonic1983 agreed to this.

I carefully read the rules and didn't find the point where it says that using content / help from banned users is not allowed. Actually admins, moderators hate sonic1983 and they don't allow content where sonic1983 helped.

It seems that there are "unwritten rules". Perhaps later the admins will add a new rule: "content from banned members is not allowed." Unfortunately, the trend in the community is very negative, the admins are tightening the screws, and nothing good will come of it. I remember the times when site admins didn't ban servers on the master server for using "portlegs" and other "illegal" on mb things. Since then, the community has changed in a very negative way. I sincerely hoped that this would never happen.

why did mikheal get banned?
Fair question, here's the ban reason he was given.
You were spoken to in the past by a mod, and you were told (in detail) about why we will not accept mods made by Sonic1983.

This time, you submitted a mod with his contributions in it, and a judge told you:

"You've already gone through a similar situation before with another one of your mods, but we do not allow Sonic1983's work to be released on the forum due to his behavior in the community.
Everything else around that is fine, so please do resubmit this resource pack with Sonic1983's content removed."

You proceeded to reupload with all the same content but Sonic1983's name scrubbed out of the entire thing. How stupid do you think we are? Don't try to lie to us. It's obvious he made it. We do not allow Sonic1983's content, period. Since you don't seem to be able to respect this, and for trying to lie to judges about it, that's earned you a ban.
tl;dr, he submitted a mod with content from a user who's harassed a bunch of people in the community, and we told him we wouldn't accept mods from that person; he tried to sneak it through anyways. Upon being banned, he started trying to make silly threats in DMs about making SRB2 Community 2: Electric Boogaloo, with blackjack and hookers, so if there was any doubt as to his character that about settled it.

Sometimes, people who are good at art can still be shitty people, huh?

Sirexer and Antimodern wrote above that the blocking of Mikhail Blur occurred without violating any rule. And it doesn't really say in the rules that members are prohibited from posting content that uses anything created by banned members. It is also not written in the rules that for attempting to publish such content without specifying the name of the banned participant, the person who tries to publish this content will be banned. Sonic1983's name is also not mentioned anywhere in the rules. Thus, your message only confirmed once again that they told the pure truth. However, Sirexer emphasized the unfair blocking of Mikhail Blur, and Xntimodern emphasized that the community has become too repressive compared to the times when he first registered here.

And insulting community members after they have been banned is, as I understand it - a long tradition of the srb2 community. Suffice it to recall that crazy hell that happened after Sapheros was blocked on the official SRB2 discord server. I don't think this kind of frenzy will ever be acceptable on a SRB2 RU server. Personally, from my point of view, there is no moral difference between insulting current members and those who were banned for any reason (no matter what).

As for the "threats" to create an alternative community, these are not threats at all, but the only option for those who do not fit into the rigid limits of the CURRENT (but, mind you, not earlier) version of this community.

"We reserve the right to make exceptions to any of these rules where we find it justified to do so."

This is such an instance; we will not host the content of someone who harasses other community members.

Anyhow, sorry, I had a conversation with Mikhael about this very thing in February so there's no innocence there.

So yeah, no leg for him to stand on, sorry: He knew full well this wasn't okay, because he was told directly. If he's telling you otherwise he must just be lying to you.

Sapheros? You mean the guy who sent young children his dick pics? I can guarantee you that every member of the staff here is 100% okay with people talking shit about a child molester. You're free to, too. He was a piece of shit, and it's important people know that, so taking the piss on people like that stays.

Anyhow, you seem to be somewhat new: The community is actually a LOT less rigid than before. These same rules existed back then and were enforced just as hard! They were even a lot more rigid and banned mods didn't meet "quality" levels, or sprite rips. It sounds like your friends are actually just flat out taking you for a fool with some of this stuff. :V

It's impossible to make rules for literally every situation. You might ask, "How was he supposed to know that was wrong?", but Mikhail was directly and fairly warned to not submit content from Sonic1983, yet he then tried to do it again anyway. He deliberately ignored a moderator warning, he has no right to claim he was unfairly punished, nor do you. Even so, that moderator warning was empowered by the language of the rules themselves.

It is also not written in the rules that for attempting to publish such content without specifying the name of the banned participant, the person who tries to publish this content will be banned

Mikhail was told content by Sonic1983 was off-limits. He still tried to submit some anyway. "It wasn't stated in the rules" isn't a viable defense when he was told directly, and thus would've known better. He was still afforded the opportunity to apologize or try to make amends, but instead he chose to double-down.

Just because something isn't listed in the rules doesn't mean it's okay to do. You aren't allowed to misbehave or act in bad-faith just because you don't see that exact situation covered in the rules. It is impossible to make rules for literally every situation.

As the rules themselves say...
These rules aren't a contract: they're a reflection of a culture. There is no hard line and there are no loopholes. Be constructive, be kind, and take it easy; if you can do that, you'll probably enjoy your time here and make good friends!

Alright, alright. Let me put in my two cents here since I saw you mention a certain someone that I happen to have been involved with in the past.

Even if the rules are laid out, it doesn't change the fact that the moderators are allowed to make decisions for sake of the community on their own accord regardless of rules. This means that what you may consider "unfair" is actually justified given context and collective analysis. Calling the community repressive as of this moment is also something I'd consider to be a bold move considering there are plenty of people, including me, who could very much so say it's not true and that following rules along with being courteous isn't that difficult.

What you call "long tradition" is fairly normal and justified considering the gravity of some people's actions. Sapheros was not just banned from the OS, but everywhere related to this game due to the nature of what they did and who they hurt, including me. For you to mention their name here while trying to prove a point such as this is nothing short of ignorant and you honestly could not have tried to pick a worse example.

As for the "threats" to create an alternative community, these are not threats at all, but the only option for those who do not fit into the rigid limits of the CURRENT (but, mind you, not earlier) version of this community.
I promise you with every fiber of my being that this community is not nearly as rigid as you think it is, and are making it out to be. You're allowed to have your sub communities, but showing such ignorance to the main one here as your reasoning for it really isn't a good look. Not only is the community way less rigid than before, but it's grown a lot more safe, comfortable, and overall better than it used to be. Same rules as always that are being enforced just the same (but done so in a more courteous and fair manner than before with a lack of things like an arbitrary quality bar and such.)

The definition of "fairness" changes from place to place, and is mainly landed on out of community agreement and courtesy in any applicable scenario. Whether you choose to follow along with said courtesy and receive the same respect and "fair" treatment you're expected to give, well... that's on you. I promise this place is a lot better than you may think, and I'm sure a good bit of people could back me up. I'd encourage you to reconsider what your friends may be trying to tell you.
