I say this is nice and I hope some one hosts it,
It's also a definent download as this is a great job you deserve the internet for 8 hours!

Geez.. you shouldn't make the game crash when you finish the last level.

And oh, quite a few of your levels are impossible to finish with Sonic, heck, even with Tails!

Firstly, eww, filesize. Compress the music properly, thank you. If that is impossible, use a zip file. Besides, the music shouldn't even be included, because the special stage music was good anyway. :/

As for the entirety of Emerald Hill, it's too open given the lack of jumps. As for act 1, in order to find the deathpit that marks what can only be assumed as what you have finished, the player must find springs that are hidden behind walls. Bad. As for act2, too many cramped areas. Well, while crampedness can be done, it has to be fun. Like, put stuff in it, as opposed to just having your average generic hall. Also, too many small platforms as well. And lastly, darn buzzes.

Metal Mines 1 strikes me as bland. Too bland to keep me interested. Metal Mines 2 needs to be scrapped for obvious reasons, alongside Metal Mines 3.

That's all for today. More later.

Fix'd

Do you even think it's really possible to complete all of the levels with Sonic? I don't. Some of the jumps are too far for Sonic to make, and to far/high for Tails to fly up. Even a red spring doesn't reach the right height for Metal Mine(..?) act 1(?). The floor to where you are supposed to be is a few units too high.

The zone 9 boss is impossible to beat. Once you hit Eggman a few times, he disappears.

Leaf Forest 1 is suffers from being generally unintuitive, as well as much crappy platfroming. When I'm literally jumping onto platforms, that's bad. Another problem, you've got too many enemies in one area, and then not enough in another. It would also appear that this is grossly incomplete. Leaf forest 2 and 3 both need scrapping ASAP.

Casino Carnival 1 has a gimmick in it with really flawed execution. Really. Other than that, it's unfinished. Act 2 can't be improved. Can't. As for act3, it wouldn't be so bad except the THZ turret. Kill it and make the platforms a bit wider.

The boss may go to the bottom of the level where the quicksand is.

You can beat him, but just to make sure... I'll run a test on boss right now.

EDIT: You can beat him, he just may bounce in the center pit, and you can attack him without dieing unless you sink into the sand.

I can explain, most of them are not even done, so they can only be beaten with knuckles at the moment, next release that will be fixed.

I also forgot about the red spring, so that will be fixed.

Going through all of these maps is a real waste of time, I think I'd rather just gvie you a checklist to run through all your maps. Besides, I think this should give youa better idea of what works in SRB2 or not.

Something easy to start off with: Boss maps. Boss maps really shouldn't rely on death pits to give them a challenge. Rather, the map should accent the boss, such as doing something special with the eggslimer's slime. You really should be trying to soc a bit if you can't find something that works. Alternatively, build a stereotypical boss map with great scenery.

Another thing, cramped areas. They can work, but there's a few things you need to know. First, they shouldn't make up a good portion of your map. That's bad. Second, you actually need something interesting in the area. Something to keep the player playing, obviously/

And now, platforming. Every level needs some platforming. However, platfroming *does* need to be done right. Platforms that are actually floating platforms suckfor a number of reasons. They make the level too hard, seeing as how jumping on tiny platfroms is so freakishly hard. Also, they generally aren't very forgiving, always having a long drop below them. Raised squares aren't very helpful either, since they clutter up the floor blow. Good examples are in quite a few contest winning maps, how you're jumping onto a raised portion of land instead of a small square FOF.

Two small ending remarks: First, look at maps in SRB2 and see what works and what doesn't. Many designs don't, and only a few do. Second, make your maps different. Maps like Verdant Forest are hard to navigate because they use the same design and gimmicks throughout the entire map, and sometimes act 2. Remember, using the same gimmick over and over and over again makes life boring.

Heh,this deserves a OH NOES in ub3r l33t style: ONOZ!!!1!!1oneoneone

I thought you decided to stop the mod,I renember when Mystic locked the old topic.

Nice work,I am downloading the mod right nao!

Ok, I played this wad just recently...... ok, a WHILE back, and here's some tips I have to give you.

1. Don't make completed levels with hard jumps for Sonic. Add a couple more ledges, like in the first level, the pit between you and the end is so far, you need to charge spindash-jump-thok which gets really annoying.

2. Don't make crucial things hidden. Occasionaly is fine, but if you overdo it, it just gets annoying.

3. The constant random boxes/pair of random boxes have got to go. I don't want to rely on luck to get the thing I want.

4. Of all things, don't put completed levels in between Beta levels, it gets REALLY annoying. Sure, every level has an end sign, but it's no fair if you have to be only one character to get there. You should make temporary ledges there for the Betas, then when the level is complete, get rid of them.

Some improvements...

A. You got rid of the upgraded enemies for the earlier levels, which is good, but then there's an empty area near the end of the first level, which also makes it less challenging. Add a few more crawlas to replace the Jetty-syns.

B. The sand level kinda shows that you're starting to improve, I like that. But with the first act when your jumping through the floating platforms , you need to make the last platform a bit closer for Sonic. While I understand it's a Beta, you at least need to make it completable by more than one character. Springing up into a ceiling of spikes isn't fun either, in fact, it's really annoying. The good thing is that it's not inevitable, unlike the spring under spiked ceiling in the second act in the first level, which is hardly inevitable at all.

That's really all I have to say.

P.S.: When can I get the boss sprites for the boss I planned out?

I'd feel like this was my fault if my signature didn't say to "If you need a wad to join my server, PM me and I'll try to send ya a link." -.-'

What the...??

Another year old topic being bumped... *sigh*

I'm not going to complain, just for the sake of preventing myself from getting another ban...

Besides, I'm not even sure that SonicX8000 is working on this anymore. I never even got to download it in the first place...
