Ring Racers Suggestions

I don't remember if I or someone else here has already said this, but I hope that we could play Battle Mode with CPU opponents.
 
So what's the reason behind the game making it so Top and Grow can bypass tripwires and access tripwire related shortcuts, but about half tripwires in this game straight up don't work or kill you for trying to use those items
 
I actually got a good one.
Making previous version replays compatible with new versions so that you may still watch them.
 
I believe including lists of challenges included with cups, particular tracks, characters, etc. when you go over them in various menus outside of the Challenges menu in extras would help a lot. Also adding a way to filter challenges in their dedicated menu by conditions and whatnot.

As it stands I have to record all the challenges in an external notetaking program just so I can keep track of them more conveniently since trying to locate individual challenges is a bit of a pain.
 
Dunno if this is plausable but I want to suggest 2 things for Addons. Is it possible to toggle wads or PK3 files so you can change addons on runtime? While I'm at it. Alot of people ask for individual wads or PK3s but the chore of maintaining both is quite stressful. So what if you make a way to allow users to toggle the individual racers S_SKINS they want to use on and off, with those off being excluded from the max racer count? I can understand if it's not possible, but I thought I'd ask anyways.

I did have a feeling that might be the case, but I thought I'd put a suggestion on it up just in case there might be a way to adjust the engine to allow it. The addon uninstall suggestion would at least make for a neat QoL for both addon devs and players, but I'm sure there's also a reason why that hasn't happened as well. Still worth suggesting as a QoL though, you'd never know.
 
This is a pretty random and tiny request but I would like it if, when you clear a stage in Time Attack, the sound that plays when you get a medal was different for each medal. I think it would improve player feedback, and you wouldn't have to wait for the TA menu in order to see whether you got silver or gold.

I am once again coming here to request the removal of Death Egg's 12 laps online. For the love of god. It really does not need to last that long
FWIW we probably won't be seeing an intermediate patch between now and 2.4 to do something like this, if they do change it at all - so for now the easiest thing to do is just to run a mod that drops it. I believe there's a lua option, though I just do it via a custom SOC that overwrites the vanilla one at runtime. Hasn't broken on me so far!

Of course this is assuming you're hosting the server - if not I guess you could ask the host to look into something similar, but if they want the 12 laps then that's that.
 
I wish that you could have separate control mappings for menus & in-game rather than having them be forced to be the same button. Like for example, I have Enter/Escape both bound to open the menu but I instinctively try to use Enter to select something but instead of doing that the game instead just closes the menu. I also have "W" mapped to accelerate so it's awkward for me using that to confirm stuff in menus.

I also dislike how in grand prix it doesn't matter how well you do throughout the race; if you mess up at all during the last lap you're forced to either lose a life or be kicked out of the cup. I think it instead should be dynamic; if you rank high in the first few laps then you should be good to continue regardless of your placement in the last lap, while poor performance throughout the entire race will not allow you to continue, but if you finish the last lap of the race in last place then you automatically lose a life regardless of your performance.
 
Given how divisive Death Egg is, with some people hating it due to how big it is and others loving it, I think that in the event of a successful Death Egg vote in online, a second vote will start before the race. This vote will have 3 options: Short Death Egg (1 lap [4 laps on HUD]), Medium Death Egg (2 laps [8 on HUD]), or Large Death Egg (3 laps [12 on HUD]); and whatever version of Death Egg gets the most votes will be the one used in the next race.
