Project Gentleturtle (A Character Mod, WIP)

Alr, it's actually been around 6-7 months developing this mod. Beforehand I also worked on a custom level, but I thought it'll be good to try making a character mod while also learning how LUA works in SRB2. Here's a preview of the character :

A gentleman turtle (gentleturtle for this case), he has comically large tophat and a green shell on his back. Abilities that he has may going to be him using a walking stick to throw like a boomerang or y'know just spindash through like the usual. His animations aren't mostly done yet, just recently made the walking animation, but without the shadings (the one from behind, so not all sides yet...).

Miscellaneous
- Introducing, a very simple custom ability called "ShellSpin" (TEMPORARY)
Simply by pressing jump again after a single jump, he'll goes in his shell and dashes through with a slight vertical movement. Basically thok but also a double jump. Another thing is that if hits a wall while in the ShellSpin ability, he'll bounce of walls, sorta like a Koopa shell from the Mario series. If the spin button is held during ShellSpin, he'll continuously be in roll state until he hits something.

Here's an only GOOD clip of that ability :

Back again, with some more things to show off... it's not much but could be something y'know-

Monthly Update (August)
- He now can do a move called "Stick Around" (basically a cane being used as a boomerang)

After throw, it would return back to players and clips through levels so that it doesn't get stuck. If it got thrown and hit a wall, then it would bounce and return to the player. Useful for defeating bosses or rows of enemies.

- After pressing his main ability, if pressed spin button before landing, then he'll slide on the ground (sorta like a Blue Shell from NSMB)

It deactivates when hitting a wall. Also you can't jump during this moment, might explain later-

Yeah more of a mechanic update more than the sprites or animations themselves but they'll come along soon if possible. Any feedbacks are gladly appreciated :mrgreen:

Friends, bad news...

THERE'S NO UPDATE FOR NOVEMBER..!
No that doesn't mean the project is cancelled or something, I just simply took a break from it to work on other stuff (and probably personal things too). As of now, not all sprites have been replaced, but further plans are there to keep in track. So maybe next month/year it should be worked on again, hopefully.... :worry:

Anyway here's the plot as to why the character is in SRB2 (in a nutshell) :
He's just chilling, but some guy said to him like "Pardon me sir, it seems like you can go anywhere now." And thus, he sets off to many outside worlds, with one of them just happened to include a blue hedgehog and a mad scientist bumbling about his power of the Black Rock.

Alright, a very, ᴠᴇʀʏ, ᵛᵉʳʸ, small update for this month, as beforehand I took a break from the mod. So yeah here it is :

Monthly Update (December)
- FIRE sprites are added to the mod

Very subtle, but it's there. It will also play when he's walking, running, or jumping, sorta like the firing sprites for Flare (which is the inspiration-)

Yeah, that's probably it. I do want to add other things as well, probably the sprites though. So...
