This is a VERY good idea!
You should also replace the sprites in Spring Hill Zone.

i tried that but it wouldn't show, i replaced all of the spring hill sprites (as in the super sonic) but it wouldn't show ( yes i put S_START and S_END)

Well, all I don't like is that the open smile kinda makes him look creepy. Maybe a closed smile would work better. Also, the third pic from the top left looks like his legs are bent in an uncomfortable way. But, this is still a nice idea.

NiGHTS should never, ever, ever, be a character. NiGHTS should only replace the current Super Sonic Drone, and that's it. Also, SRB2's purple sucks enough so that NiGHTS isn't a worthwhile endeavor. Believe me, I've tried.

Guys, there are 5 purple shades, not four. Either way, it won't work. Because NiGHTS actually uses several different shades of purple in many detailed ways that can't be emulated with 5 shades.

I stand by my words. This simply won't work because of SRB2's current limitations, and that NiGHTS shouldn't be a character. Trust me when I say that I absolutely know that a good NiGHTS wad needs more purple than SRB2 currently provides.
