THE NEW THOK:
The New Thok is a new ability attempting to polish the base game's Thok, having some new radical visual effects, and some extra new features on top.

this is a fun mod but it breaks Sonic and Tails's flight call.

he just keeps going down with the mod on im not pressing spin or anything he just goes down on his own.
 
I like this mod. Really fun to use. However, there are two issues I have: the thok sound effect should just be the vanilla one instead of the one from the Modern games, and is there any reason why Super Sonic's hover is missing?
 
I know every SRB2 mod at this point does this, but I would love to see some additive blending be used to give the thok a smoother trail! You could also just apply AST_ADD to the effects already and call it a day.

I'd go for an icy blue, typically works the best.
 
not sure if i know how to use AST_ADD and mo.blendmode and whatnot.
I made an entirely new mobj called MT_ADDITIVE_THOK and a new state S_ADDITIVE_THOK with the frame flag FF_ADD and uh i got this ig
and about adding FF_ADD to the dash ring... i dunno if i like it or not

oh and they dont despawn currently
I'd increase the transparency by 10-18% and shift it to more darker blues, additive blending LOVES darker colors like maroon or navy blue.

can't change the color. I would prefer it stay player.mo.skincolor, for multiplayer sake.
I can give the dash ring additive blending.
Not sure what to do about making the thok trail have additive blending, since I would rather use mt_thok than recreate the entire object, and then use P_SpawnMobjFromMobj, give it a fuse, and then make it fade-out, etc.

I tried the vanilla sound and I didn't like it, it just sounded "weak" to me. I just feel like it doesn't fit with this thok personally.
Super Sonic's hovering is gone because Sonic's ability isn't the Thok, it's a custom Thok. SRB2 is coded so that Super Sonic will only hover if his ability is the Thok that's present in the base game.
But i mean... you can use shield abilities while super now, isnt that a plus?

Thanks, I actually found this on my own while playing as Sonic & Tails, turns out I didn't check if the player was Sonic, so it applied some changes to every character, which caused this to happen. This bug has been fixed.
 
This mod is awesome, but the atomic thok feels too disruptive, maybe you could change it to pressing jump and spin at the same time mid-air?
