Remember that really old beta of Sonic 4, the one with the terrible minecart and pinball level? Remember how pretty much everybody hated it and told Sega that?
Remember how it was stated that the decision to hold back and make new acts there was made based on focus testing?
Not that I don't support the idea of voicing problems to try and get them dealt with, but I'm just pointing out that this isn't what happened in that case.
It says it's only for 14 year olds. Troll post right there.
Oh whatever. N-never mind.
I don't like tests anyway(though I seem to pass every one I take, for some reason. I study all night...)
The most I can tell you is I have staright A's in every class, and never ended a grade with a C in anything.
It was....interesting I guess. I was expecting the Final Boss from Sonic 1 :P
Anyways the game was not long at all. It was actually very short. It took me about an hour and a half to beat it on my iPod and about 4-5 hours to beat it on the Wii. I am sure Sega could've added more stuff to the game. Or maybe many of us have become such great players of Sonic games that we have become masters at completing levels and we don't realize that the levels we are playing on are actually pretty long. Seriously though Sega could've added a lot more onto the game. Hopefully they will update the iPod and iPhone ones so that the levels in those are longer.
I don't really understand why they thought it would be a good idea to make us fight the previous four bosses again. And the final final boss was pretty easy compared to the original from Sonic 2, at least before he goes berserk.
No, but it gives the people saying "Sonic 4 is so buggy, it's not a worthy successor of the classics" something to think about. Granted, you're not one of them, but a lot of people do have that attitude of "the classics are perfect, this has no redeeming value".
The difference being that Sonic 3&K actually has an excuse. The glitches linked three posts ago are mostly caused by the differences and additional features brought in by Sonic 3 rather than the physics that have been intact since Sonic 1; shitloads of new features were in 3&K, so naturally there's going to be unforeseen bugs, especially since a lot of these require complex interactions, usually between player 1 and player 2. Meanwhile, most of Sonic 4's physics abnormalities happen without the player even trying and could have been avoided by simply going with Sonic 1's physics, which I think most would agree to be a superior and more enjoyable engine anyway, so I don't see why Sonic 4 deserves as much credit as 3&K.
Yes, it does. The limitations of the Genesis' memory forced them to leave what was there. They could only fix easy to duplicate bugs. The new additions topped the memory off; there was honestly nothing they could do except release another console.
This is 2010 where we now have computers capable of running up to 6 cores at once. It's pretty easy to fix easy to duplicate bugs. The physics engine is terrible not because people find bugs on purpose, but how noticeable said physics are. I thought the physics were fine until I was speedrunning Casino Street and I tapped the opposite direction of a spring to stop myself and I was skidding constantly.

Then they should have released another console. Of course, it made more sense to release the game as it were, but that still doesn't excuse the presence of bugs, only explain them.

I was explaining how in today's standard, memory problems are far rarer. So rare they shouldn't even happen;Back when S3&K came out they were limited to 34MB. Nowadays consoles are limited to about 2GB minimum.
There is absolutely NO way to avoid that forced death if you have all the Chaos Emeralds, and it's very possible to miss that one big ring anyway if you don't think about going through the wall right after the switch.
I'm sorry, but a glitch that forces the player to die and restart through absolutely no fault of their own is leagues worse than "oh lol Sonic can stand on a slope in Sonic 4".
(And this is after the poor Tails fellow has had to go through the hell that is Marble Garden Act 2's boss, too. Ouch.)
Uhh... is getting back to back Jackpots on Casino Street Zone 1 common? Because I have gotten about 8 Jackpots in a row just by re-entering the... err, bar thingy that actives them. (Only gotten 1 Eggman Slot before I start getting back to back Jackpots.)
*EDIT*
Ok... make that 15 Jackpots in a row giving me a total of 999+ Rings, as if I already had enough after the the earlier Jackpots, however the Timer was getting close to 9 Minutes, so I had to go Super and rush to the end of the level.
Score: 1109400 (Jackpots give you 50000, I forgot to mention I had other bonuses come in from the slots.
Time: 9'42"11
Rings: 983
Honestly... is getting Jackpots in a row common in this game or is it just me? >_>
Oh, and Casino Street Zone 2's subtitle needs to be "Extra Life Heaven". That just gives you so many lives...
-----
Alright... beaten the game, got all the Chaos Emeralds. (Special Stages were annoying at some points, such as the hit-a-bumper-a-fling-to-a-goal-block at random times.)
The Final Boss actually took me a few tries to get the pattern down, however even if you get the pattern down... wait till it's final attack...
The attack is when the Final Boss is down to it's last hit, after that, you NEED to hurry and hit it once more after it lands, otherwise it will break the floor, which will force you to die.
The game itself isn't really that bad, despite the bad physics in some places, however this really never gave me a issue while playing the game, I did lose a few lives, but hey, it was my first time, so yea... you are going to expect some deaths. >_>

"Super Tails" tells me you had S&K locked on to Sonic 3, which fixes a bunch of little glitches. You know, like a patch would in modern days -- except it meant you had to buy a whole 'nother game to get a fix.
