Oops, I did it again~
(The amount of time I've been procrastinating designing a few straight lines for the special stages in my bigger project does not bode well for my plan to eventually make a fully original campaign for it...)
A while ago in a private Discord server, I half-joked about making a Melee Fox mod. However long later, I did! Note that this is a bit of a joke mod, based mostly on memes rather than my 0 long hours of actually playing Super Smash Bros. Melee.
His Spin ability is the Reflector/Shine. It works about like you'd expect, except that the startup hitbox is ridiculously large and his body continues to be a hitbox for way longer after that. There's also no sprite for it on account of I don't wanna
Reflecting projectiles works just fine, though! ...Mostly. Brak Eggman's flamethrower goes off in some random direction for some reason. Also, the sound uses one already in the game, rather than the one from Melee that's already in the files, but I couldn't be bothered to freeslot it and actually implement it.
His Jump ability is a bit more complicated. If you tap Jump, you'll get a janky-looking Fox Illusion, in which you zip forward a little bit and then stop dead in your tracks. If you hold it for a little bit, though, you'll get Fire Fox, which goes for a bit longer, can be angled by holding forward or backward when releasing, and maintains momentum after finishing. Both attacks damage enemies while active, and Fire Fox is the obligatory floor-busting move, as well as busting walls and spikes.
If you hold Custom 1, you can dash! Yep, an SRB2 character with a run button. RIP to Lost World but I'm different. Dashing makes Melee Fox accelerate ridiculously fast, reach a top speed of... *whips out calculator* 4/3rds the speed of the vanilla cast, and also doubles as a fast fall, causing you to plummet to the ground. Now you can finally do a shorthop back air in SRB2... if not for the fact that SRB2 Melee Fox lacks a back air.
Finally, if you use your Jump ability while holding down Custom 1, instead of charging a Fox Illusion/Fire Fox, you can wavedash! Spam it to build up speed up to nearly twice your regular grounded speed. You see, when the Speed Thok forces you to mash Jump to go fast, I don't like it, but when I do it, it's funny.
A few notes:

A few notes:
- I haven't bothered to make any custom states and probably never will for this mod, so some of the animations look a little bit jank. ...Okay, most of the animations look a little bit jank.
- The wavedash doesn't work as intended with most momentum mods. Like, it doesn't break, per se, but the speed doesn't go away when the move ends, so you don't have to spam it.
- Automatic control mode is probably busted, or at least a little bit wonky.
