This is the 3rd M&L game in the series, the first being Superstar Saga for the GBA, then Partners in Time for the DS, and then Bowser's Inside Story for the DS.

I just got done with the final boss, which was easy, but I was overleveled at the time, and I had used those Beans to boost my stats.

First time fighting the Final Boss.

Mario at Lv. 38
Luigi at Lv. 38
Bowser at Lv. 28

For a first playthrough, I got all the Special Attacks, I have yet to still dig up most of the stuff in this game, and tackle the *X Bosses* but what are the X Bosses? Sorry, Don't want to send out too many spoilers.

Discuss.

Mario level:24
Luigi level:24
Bowser level:22

...What a balanced team XD

The Mario and Luigi series can only really be played on one run. After you beat the game, you know all of the enemies patterns, making the game pretty boring.

The series is way too easy. The fact that you can simply avoid the attack bothers me, as I never died in any of the RPGs, and I can beat the final boss of Saga in two turns.

About how long did it take to complete the game's story? One of the things I hated about Partners in Time was it's short length, which is ironic considering how repetitive that game is.

I thought the concept was novel, myself. Though, judging from the levels that SonicX8000 reached at the end of the story, it sounds like the playtime between the Mario Bros. and Bowser isn't very balanced.

I don't want to get this game. I didn't like the first two very much (except for the "coop" thing I do with Luminous) and this seems to be more of the same, except with some lame Bowser element slapped onto it.
The story seems downright ridiculous (Fawful gets his revenge on the Mario Bros. by having Bowser eat everything?) and it doesn't have any charm.

I've played most of it by now. In many ways, I loved it; it had the Mario and Luigi spirit of the first two, and the graphics, plot, and abilities were hilarious. I was very glad to see Fawful as the primary antagonist, and the two Shroob cameos were nice too. I also really loved how you could play special-attack-oriented minigames and replay boss battles in the Gauntlet. What was more, certain aspects of it were more reminiscent of Superstar Saga than Partners in Time, which was a plus.

My main problems with the game:

1. It's too short. There should have been more areas, and the existing areas should have been longer. Though I am glad that you need to return to some places to get everything--a feature that was almost nonexistent in PIT--there wasn't enough of that. Bottom line: Superstar Saga was longer and had more areas, and Partners in Time had bigger, more varied levels.
2. You can't increase your stats indefinitely. In Superstar Saga, you could always improve your stats by blending bean drinks at the Starbeans Cafe--and you could win more beans in minigames. Partners in Time was even more guilty of this--In that game, there was no way whatsoever to upgrade your stats (besides leveling up, of course!), which meant that once you reached level 100, that was it; there was nothing more to achieve. When I first learned that there were beans that could up your stats in Bowser's Inside Story, I was very excited, but my hopes were dashed when I learned that the number of beans in the game was limited. While we're at it, the bonus point stat system really frustrated me in this game. In the previous two, you could get almost indefinite streams of high numbers as long as you were always careful to alternate which stat you allocated the bonus points to. In this game, the only way to get a really high number in a stat is to neglect that stat for several levels.
3. The whole plot of the game seems kind of rushed; you rarely had to go far out of your way to do something. This problem has gradually increased with each game. To illustrate my point, I'll use the example of Mario and Luigi's hammers. In Superstar Saga, you had to hike up a huge, tall mountain to find a rare stone that the Hammerhead Bros. could use to make hammers for you (and rescued Prince Peasley in the process!). In Partners in Time, you had to beat the Hammer Bros. to get hammers for Baby Mario and Baby Luigi. In Bowser's Inside Story, you just break open a crate in the Trash Pit. This is pretty much how most of the plot went.
4. The field moves were okay, but they could have been better, and there could have been more of them. I was glad to see Mini Mario brought back, but it was stupid that you couldn't switch to Luigi when they were separate. Come to think of it, the whole game might have been better if you could switch the bros like you could in Superstar Saga--it would have allowed for more plot twists and more special moves. I immensely enjoyed the part where Mario got carried off by a band of Sockops, leaving Luigi to wander around solo, but there should have been more of those...and there should have been more parts where Mario had to rescue Luigi, too.
5. The music and sound effects were worse in this game than either of the other two. The tunes were very repetitive and got kind of annoying after a while...and Fawful's theme really left something to be desired, compared to Cackletta's creepy organ music and the Shroobs' sinister drum beats. The sound effects were okay, but most of the best ones were sounds that were recycled from PIT; the new ones were forgettable.

Personally, I think that the ultimate Mario and Luigi game would have length, abilities, and plot advancement in the style of Superstar Saga, graphics, music, and sound effects similar to those in Partners in Time, and minigames, gear system, and interface like Bowser's Inside Story. I don't think we'll ever see that, though.

You know this game was built off of Partners in Time..
Right?

Also my fifth time beating the game in a row.

Being build off of something doesn't mean its always going to be the same quality. Maybe they added so much music and had to compress some music files or something?

what the damn weak point of metaboss frost!

when I use flamethrower...he get overpower!

Dam that I hate Metaboss!

Learn his attacks if your fighting him for the first time, oh, and it might be wise to Level up if the fight still keeps giving you trouble, here's a list of 2 of his attacks.

I don't know how to use Spoiler Tags with the new board... >_>.

(Throwing snowballs/Charge attack.)
Shelling is the way to go, after he is done throwing them, he may unleash a charge attack, be ready to counter attack with a Punch. *The snowball attack can give you Sick status.*

(Snow Boulder)
Take note of the Bomb in the boulder, upon hitting it, it'll counter attack with it blowing up. Why did I say take note of it? Well... sometimes the bomb will be buried within the boulder, making it harder to hit.
*This attack will give you Sick status.*

I think the Gear I was wearing for the boss fight was Wicked Shell, Eco. Ring, and... forgot the other one, I think it was ether a Power Band or Iron Fist Band.

I don't think he has a weak point to be honest... just keep using Bowser's Punch Command / Special Attacks (You should have them all by now.) until... erm, forgot the name already, is KOed.

I think I am late.

That's right.
Mario and Luigi are actually Ran and Chen in disguise.
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW

Also, Snowyfox, I think that room is just for nostalgia, and doesn't do anything important, IIRC.

I bought the game and I thought out of the 3 games the Final boss is the easiest. Its just with The first game You had two phases. On the first one you started with 1 hp and immediatly have to dodge attacks . On the second game the Final boss was easier then the first one but really took a while due to having tons of HP. In the third game It was pretty easy beating both phases of thee boss due to easy to dodge attacks and a low amount of hp compared to the other Bosses.
